The British Chinese Image in the Press in the 19-20th Centuries

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the Chinese migrants in Britain, their particular experience, suffering and discrimination from the home society during the 19-20th centuries. The British media expressed special prejudice to Chinese immigrants, even tried to uglify the Chinese immigrants in various ways. It is found that the British Chinese actually became a target of discrimination whenever there was an economic depression.
