Daluosi Battle and the Policy of Tang Dynasty

This paper discusses the background and course of Daluosi Battle. It points out that Daluosi Battle is an incidental happening caused by the frontier general because of his low-grade diathesis, but it is also the inevitable aftermath of the game between Tang Dynasty and Dashi(Arabian Empire) in central Asia as well as the policy of Tang Dynasty in the Western regions. It thinks that the core of the policy of Tang Dynasty in the Western regions is to insure the safety of the area to the east of Congling and prevent the joint invasion of Tubo and western Turki. The rule of Tang Dynasty in central Asia and to deal with the challenge from Dashi become secondary.
