Abstract: | An algorithm is proposed for the location of the sources of ELF transient events which occur in the Schumann resonance range. The procedure yields a uniformly rotating vector in the frequency domain. The vector is formed out of the recorded vertical electric and horizontal magnetic field components. The changes of this vector with frequency provide a pair of equations for the evaluation of two of the three unknown parameters: these are the distance from the source, phase and attenuation constants of the waveguide. |
