“左”“右”之间：北伐前后虞洽卿与中共的合作与分裂

北伐前后，中共在上海曾与虞洽卿等商人有过密切联系，上海三次工人武装暴动即在此背景下展开。在此过程中，虞洽卿曾被视为“资产阶级左派”代表人物，也是工人暴动后在上海建立“临时市政府”的重要合作者。不过，虞与中共的合作主要仍在国民党的框架中进行，当与之有旧谊的蒋介石到上海后，虞便成为蒋重要的财政顾问。尽管虞洽卿的行动，未必能代表上海商界多数商人的倾向，但却反映了某些商人潜在的政治投机心理及对政商关系的刻意经营。由于时势与环境的影响，中共在当时的实际政治斗争中也会弹性运用“阶级分析”，来解释其运用虞洽卿等人的政策。但与“资产阶级”合作的失败，却为党内反对派提供了批判依据，甚至影响到后来路线政策的走向。
