Abstract: | This paper describes the potential use of CD ROM in osteoarchaeology. It describes what CD ROM is and how it works, how CD ROM disks are produced and how the technique could be used in osteoarchaeology. The hardware required, both to produce and access compact disks, is outlined together with approximate costs. The possible uses of the technique in osteoarchaeology are suggested. Costs for the hardware are reasonable. However, collaboration between organizations will be essential. |
