Bernath Lecture Prize for 1987, based her remarks on her recently completed year at the Department of State, where she was a Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellow. An associate professor at Georgetown University in the School of Foreign Service and the Department of History, she studied at Columbia University with William E. Leuchtenburg and Dorothy Borg. Tucker is the author of Patterns in the Dust: Chinese-American Relations and the Recognition Controversy, 1949–1950 (1983) and is currently researching American China policy under Eisenhower and Kennedy. |
