Chen Yun made important contributions to the theory of correct handling of contra- dictions among the people.The academic circles have neglected this point all these years and so we should make conscientious efforts to delve into and sort out his contributions.Firstly,he firmly grasped the changes of production relations and correctly distinguished between the two types of contradictions-those among the people and those between ourselves and the enemy,thus having a profound knowledge of their complex changes after the CPC wielded the state power.Secondly,he made it clear that the root cause of contradictions among the people was the inability of economic construction to meet the needs of the people to improve their life and so we must make tremendous efforts to explore the laws of economic construction.Thirdly,he set store by economic means, stressed that we should proceed from the fundamental,long-term and whole interests of the people and took care to correctly handle contradictions among the people in economic work.Chen Yun had his own distinct characteristic in his contributions with great theoretical and practical significance.
