改革开放以来我国人文地理学译看出版的特征、问题与建议

国外人文地理学著作和教材在我国的翻译出版主要是1990年代以来的事,商务印书馆作为出版大户在改革开放之初就出版了大规模的世界区域地理译著,其后所译著作多为受到好评的欧美论著或教材,但与原版书出版的时滞较长。相关译作缺乏规划、质量参差不齐、对教科书重视不够、学科分布不均衡等成为主要问题。加强有关译作的规划、提升翻译作品在学术评价中的地位、加强翻译队伍建设、重视教材的翻译和引进、加强薄弱学科著作和教材的引进和翻译等是今后发展的主要建议。

青海地处我国主要藏民族聚居区,青海藏文出版业在我国藏文出版事业中一直占据着重要地位。本文通过对青海藏文图书出版业现状的分析,探讨了新形势下青海藏文图书出版业的发展思路与对策。

Mapping Medieval Geographies: Geographical Encounters in the Latin West and Beyond, 300‒1600

Abstract

As the most important specialized enterprise in eighteenth‐century Germany, the Homann map printing firm affords a good case for an investigation of the factors underlying map production. Commercial success seems to have rested on the production of maps which made a political statement as well as presenting geographical and topographical information. Publication of maps concerning specific events, such as sieges, or based on new surveys had no chance of success until the publishing firm had achieved commercial stability with its basic stock of maps.     

Developing Dialogic Learning Space: The Case of Online Undergraduate Research Journals

This paper explores the learning spaces associated with two geography undergraduate research journals. Wikis provide dedicated spaces for postgraduate reviewers to collaboratively develop constructive feedback to authors creating a supportive online learning environment. In becoming published authors, undergraduates reported that they gained not only academic recognition and curriculum vitae (CV) material but an ability to apply constructive criticism, a desire for more dialogue about their research and the motivation to publish further work in the future. This paper concludes that scaffolding the research writing process can be greatly enhanced by the strategic design of dialogic online learning space.     

Unterwegs zu einer gelungenen Popularisierung sinologischen Wissens: Die Dame mit der Phönixkrone: Tang-zeitliche Grabfunde der Adeligen Li Chui (711–736)

In a popular scientific way this collection of essays is intended to present to a wider audience the findings of the excavation and preservation of the hitherto untouched tomb of Li Chui 李倕 (711–736), a 3rd degree cousin of Tang Emperor Li Longji 李隆基 as they had been documented in an interdisciplinary scientific publication before. Most remarkable among the objects excavated were her rich jewellery headgear and appliqués on her dress for their good condition and completeness. Whereas the majority of the essays go into the details of an archaeological and historical analysis supplemented by comparative aspects, there are some irrelevant and tiring essays that run off the topic of the book, besides other shortcomings. In conclusion the reviewer discusses the criteria that should be applied to any kind of popular scientific publication.
