The seismic response of a continuous 4-span bridge designed according to the current Canadian seismic provisions is investigated using Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA). Different earthquake types, including shallow crustal events, interface Cascadia subduction, and deep inslab subduction are considered. The median collapse capacities calculated using different record selection methods including Conditional Mean Spectrum (CMS)-based, Uniform Hazard Spectrum (UHS)-based, and epsilon-based methods are compared. The use of the epsilon-based method generally resulted in the highest collapse capacity predictions, but the CMS-based method was less sensitive to the number of records considered in the IDA.  相似文献

A direct methodology for solving the seismic intensity of each point on the capacity curve is proposed. By utilizing the procedure, a continuous curve between the structural response and the seismic intensity, the structural response function, can be easily generated. Unlike previous procedures that search for the performance point of a determined seismic intensity, the proposed methodology easily draws the full curve without iterations. The procedure is applicable to both a smooth design spectrum and an actual response spectrum. Examples indicate the methodology is accurate and fast, and convenient to be combined with existing procedures, such as Modal Pushover Analysis.  相似文献

The design focus for a buckling-restrained braced frame (BRBF) is that the buckling-restrained braces (BRBs) dissipate most of the seismic energy while the main frame retains a degree of elastic stiffness under a major earthquake. An elastic displacement spectrum based design method is presented in this article, which can directly determine the sectional area of the BRBs. The yield displacement in the roof of the main frame is taken as the target displacement under a major earthquake. An elastic displacement design spectrum is used to solve the target period of the BRBF. To validate this method, a six-story buckling-restrained braced steel frame is designed using the proposed method, and a series of nonlinear response history analyses (RHAs) are performed to verify the design result. The example shows that the required BRB area can be simply and accurately determined by the proposed method. The error between the given target displacement and the RHA results is 4.0% and 21.3% for BRBFs designed with BRB yield strength of 235 Mpa and 100 Mpa, respectively.  相似文献

This study proposes a method for selecting ground motions from a ground motion library with response spectra that match the target response spectrum mean, variance, and correlation structures. The proposed method is conceptually simple and straightforward. In this method, a desired number of ground motions are sequentially selected from first to last. The accuracy and consistency of the proposed method are verified through comparisons of the ground motions selected using the proposed method with those selected using conventional methods. This study shows that the seismic responses of the frames vary according to ground motion selection and correlation structures.  相似文献

A very useful tool for the preliminary design of structures is the elastic demand spectrum that can be used in the capacity spectrum method. A pseudo-acceleration relationship has to be assumed when constructing a demand spectrum. This assumption results in large errors for long period structures with large damping ratios and the conventional demand spectra require a substitute elastic structure. In the present study, the conventional demand spectra are extended to bi-linear models. Pseudo-acceleration is still assumed but results in acceptably small errors, when a constant viscous damping coefficient for a single-degree-of-freedom (SDF) structure is calculated from the tangent stiffness and the damping ratio is set at 5% in both elastic and yield phases. For nonlinear structures, tangent stiffness dependency of damping force could be acceptable because energy absorption is primarily the result of structural nonlinear deformation. To extend the conventional demand spectra to a bi-linear model, effective period calculated from the secant stiffness has to be used. The use of effective period introduces no approximation because the peak displacement of the SDF structure is computed from nonlinear analysis in the time domain. The method presented in this study is also valid if damping coefficient proportional to initial elastic spectra is used. In this case, the pseudo-acceleration is defined as the base shear coefficient that is required to produce the peak displacement of the SDF structure in a static manner. We present demand spectra of bi-linear models for a number of near-source records from large earthquakes, and spectral ratios of two horizontal components. The effects of different types of ground motion on the response reduction factor due to inelastic deformation are investigated.  相似文献

This article develops a method to generate ground motion time histories that maximize the response of a given linearly elastic structure. The root mean square (RMS) level of the input power spectral density (PSD) is used as a strong motion parameter. It is related to seismological data that is readily available. An empirical relation to estimate RMS value of the PSD from peak ground acceleration, magnitude, rupture distance, and shear wave velocity is derived from world-wide strong motion data. The ground motion is obtained by solving the inverse problem such that the structural response is maximized under the constraint of fixed value of RMS level of the input PSD enforced using a Lagrange multiplier. The proposed methodology is illustrated for a single-degree of freedom system, a six storey building and an earthen dam. It is shown that the critical PSD obtained in all the cases is a narrow band process resulting in stochastic resonance and not a Dirac-delta function with the entire energy of the system concentrated at its natural frequency. Moreover, the critical excitation samples generated using this critical PSD resembles actual earthquake acceleration time histories.  相似文献

There are various possibilities for the selection and scaling of ground motions for advanced seismic assessment of buildings using nonlinear response-history analyses. As part of an on-going project looking at building-specific loss assessment in Italy, this article highlights a number of challenges currently facing the use of conditional spectra for ground motion selection in practice, essentially related to the limited amount of seismic hazard information that is publicly available. To illustrate the points being made, the challenges faced when trying to develop conditional spectra and select spectrum-compatible accelerograms for a rock site in Napoli, Italy, are described and the seismic assessment results obtained for a number of reinforced concrete wall structures are presented. Aside from providing practitioners with an appreciation of the potential difficulty associated with using conditional spectra for record selection, this technical note should also motivate national authorities to provide more background information on national seismic hazard data and detailed guidance for record selection.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Prestressed precast concrete shear wall (PPCW) is a new kind of shear wall utilizing a combination of unbonded post-tensioning steel and mild steel for flexural resistance across horizontal joints. A simple procedure of direct displacement-based design approach for PPCW based on concept of inelastic design spectra is proposed. Section design is then carried out according to base overturning moment. A detailed design example demonstrating a step-by-step application of the design procedure is also provided. Nonlinear time-history analysis verified that this approach is applicable to control the target displacement to the performance acceptable limit.  相似文献

房地产投资能够直接带动国民经济增长,但发展过快也会给经济带来负效应,协调好房地产投资与国民经济发展的关系尤为重要。本文首先综述国内外相关研究成果,发现现有定量研究无法真实反映房地产业本身结构的变化;其次,建立时变参数模型,对房地产投资与国民经济发展之间的关系进行了实证研究;最后得出研究结论和政策建议。本文的研究结论:一是房地产投资对GDP拉动作用显著;二是房地产投资受GDP、国内银行贷款以及利率的影响各不相同。与现有研究文献相比较,本文在研究视角和方法上均有-定的突破。  相似文献

预防性保护对馆藏环境温湿度提出了适宜稳定的要求,本研究是对温湿度稳定性全新评估方法的研究。将馆藏环境温湿度监测时序数据(时域图谱)使用快速傅里叶变换(FFT)转换成频域图谱,并通过对频域图谱的解读,分析温湿度稳定性。本研究详细分析了温湿度频域图谱的优缺点,并通过频域图谱评估了展厅、展柜温湿度变化的特点、稳定性以及调控效果。研究结果为馆藏环境温湿度稳定性评估提供了一种全新的有效方法。  相似文献
