汉画像石文字考释

本文对汉代画像石文字中的通借字、异体字作了介绍和探讨,对某些疑难字作了具体辨识,为了解、研究汉代文字面貌及增补《碑别字新编》等工具书提供了新的资料。     

试论中国新兴的人工旅游资源

以1958年美国兴建洛杉矶迪尼斯乐园为标帜,国际上人工旅游资源正迅速崛起。近十年来我国新兴的人工旅游资源不断涌现,主要有:(1)微缩景观公园;(2)影视拍摄基地;(3)游乐园及野生动物园;(4)仿古街及仿古园林;(5)专题博物馆与碑林;(6)旅游节日等。我国新兴的人工旅游资源在地理分布上集中在东部沿海地区,具有求知、求新、求乐、求奇的时代特征,意味着我国旅游形式从单纯的游览观光开始向游客参与和消遣型转变。一些人工旅游资源如深圳"锦绣中华"公园,无锡"唐城"、北京世界公园、哈尔滨冰灯艺术节等取得良好的社会效益和经济效益。今后对人工旅游资源的发展应保持宏观控制与正确引导。     

An exploration of character traits and linear measurements for sexing mountain gazelle (Gazella gazella) skeletons

The skeletal elements of mountain gazelle (Gazella gazella) have proven difficult to sex with statistical confidence due to wide overlap in the body size of the two sexes. We studied a sample of 53 modern mountain gazelle skeletons to determine which character traits and metric measurements best predict sex. The success of the character traits was determined using blind tests while the metrics were examined using discriminant function analysis. The most useful elements include the previously identified horn core, pubis and atlas, but also some new bone portions that preserve well in the archaeological record (e.g., distal tibia, distal metacarpal and metatarsal, and second phalanx). Surprisingly, two elements commonly used in sexing analyses (distal humerus and astragalus) were not among the most effective elements. Although cutting points and discriminant functions for sexing gazelle bone portions are presented here, they do not account for potential body size change and thus are not suited for direct application to archaeological assemblages. Instead, we provide guidelines for application to archaeological gazelle assemblages, most importantly a regression analysis that considers the sex ratios obtained from multiple measurements to predict the sex ratio of archaeological gazelle populations.     

Appraisal of Conservation Area Character in England: progress and problems

As the number of conservation areas within England continues to rise, it is increasingly important that adequate care and attention be given to their management. If not, the concept will be devalued and initiatives to protect and enhance such areas will not receive sufficient consideration. Conservation Area character appraisals have recently been suggested as a basis for the management of activities within Conservation Areas. This article considers the nature of advice on appraisals, and then the progress of English authorities in undertaking them. It will conclude with a number of issues and concerns which must be tackled if the potential of theses management instruments is to be fully realised.     

From Beyond the Grave and Across the Ocean: Washington Irving and the Problem of Being a Questioning American, 1809–20

This article is a reconsideration of Washington Irving’s early career between the productions of his first two major works: A History of New York (1809) and The Sketch Book (1819–20). His life and writings in that period are treated as a study in the individual problem of being a ‘questioning American,’ specifically a questioning American writer, in the new republic, and as a broader critique of the developing new nation. Specifically it places those writings in dialogue with the dominant Jeffersonian narrative of a glorious national future. It thus rediscovers Irving as a critical alternative witness to this important period in American history and the entwined attempt to critique his country and to come to terms with it as the central, underappreciated theme both in neglected writings (his contributions to the Analectic Magazine (1812–15)) and familiar tales (Rip van Winkle, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow).

本文以《易》解《千字文》,把《千字文》分为两部分,揭示了原文作者谋篇布局时法《易经·乾》卦之理,据典索字,以字表经,以使既定千字杂而不乱、缀而成文的良苦用心,对于深入挖掘《千字文》中蕴涵的哲学思想,发扬其作为蒙训国学教材的价值具有重要意义。     

《史记·楚世家》熊渠封三子史料性质小考

结合相关文献材料和研究成果,本文分析了《史记.楚世家》所记载的熊渠封三子的史料性质,认为三子之王号最初可能仅是尊称或神号,经过长期的演化和整合,形成了三子皆称王的说法,并被《史记》吸纳和沿用,成为《楚世家》的一部分。     

再论温江鱼凫村遗址第三期文化遗存的性质

结合近年来考古新发现,对以鱼凫村遗址第三期文化遗存为代表的、分布于成都平原的一支考古学遗存,进行辨析与研究,认为由于其独特的文化内涵和所处文明发展阶段,应该从宝墩文化中单列出来,并根据考古学文化命名的基本原则,建议将这类主要分布在成都平原地区、距今4000～3700年的考古学文化遗存命名为"童凫村文化".相信这一判断,...     

清切哀伤、诗体古旧的蔡邕的《琴操》——谦论汉代琴曲歌辞与乐府诗、五言诗的关系

蔡邕所整理的《琴操》在很大程度上是为琴曲定性,界定它的审美特征。琴曲歌辞主要是四言和骚体,采用的是古老的诗歌形式,因此,对乐府诗与诗体演变的关系必须全面审视,不能片面强调它对五言涛生成的推动作用。琴曲歌辞重在抒情,篇幅短小,这也是它和其它乐府诗的重要区别。蔡邕是按照自己的审美理想整理琴曲歌辞,流露出对旧诗体的依恋。
