Nondestructive analyses of medieval reverse paintings on glass revealed the same dyes and pigments customarily used in panel
paintings. However, there is one exception: the black colorant is not a carbon-based pigment, but black enamel. In this respect,
the stylistic as well as the technical influence of stained glass artwork can clearly be seen on reverse paintings on glass.
However, there is a crucial difference: in reverse paintings, the black enamel is not fired onto the glass but painted (cold
painting). Additional analyses confirmed these findings. Based on these results, the art form “reverse painting on glass”
has technically to be characterized as a mixture of “stained glass” and “panel painting” that nonetheless develops into a

We suggest attention to policy regimes provides a fruitful means for joining the contributions of scholars who study policy processes with those who are concerned with governance challenges. Our research synthesis underscores the limits of existing theorizing about policy processes for problems that span multiple areas of policy and highlights the prospects for and limitations of governing beyond the boundaries of subsystems. We suggest new avenues for theorizing and research in policy processes based on the concept of a boundary‐spanning policy regime. We develop notions about this type of policy regime within the context of the broader literature about regimes in political science, discuss the forces that shape the strength and durability of such regimes, and provide a variety of examples. This synthesis challenges the focus of policy process scholars on subsystems and broadens the traditional focus on policymaking to consideration of the dynamics of governing. 相似文献

In this article, we trace the evolution of punctuated equilibrium theories of the policy process to the development of a full theory of government information processing. Noting that punctuated equilibrium is one realization of a larger theory of government information processing, we outline a research agenda for the study of agenda setting, policy dynamics, and information flows in the policy process. In doing so, we relate the study of government information processing to such important features of American government as inter-institutional dynamics and delegation in the policy process. 相似文献
