The manufacture of the mechanical clocks began from the 13th Century in Europe and spread into China in the late Ming Dynasty.During the Kangxi Reign of the Qing Dynasty, the industry of making mechanical clocks became popular and formed three manufacturing centers: Beijing for the royal use, Guang zhou and Nanjing.
