我国旅游交通发展现状及研究述评

旅游交通作为旅游业发展必不可少的先决条件和依附基础,其发展状况对旅游目的地的持续发展具有重要影响。在分析我国旅游交通发展现状的基础上,指出当前我国旅游交通所面临的四个方面挑战。然后从旅游交通综合理论研究、旅游交通规划理论及应用研究、旅游与交通关联研究、旅游交通信息化与旅游交通地图研究、旅游交通管理研究等五个方向对国内旅游交通研究文献进行述评,并提出今后我国旅游交通的研究方向,旨在就如何发展我国现代化旅游交通提出合理化建议。     

区际综合运输通道空间结构研究——以内蒙古东部地区与东北三省为例

随着《东北地区振兴规划》的实施,由内蒙古东部地区与东北三省构成的新东北经济区区际联系不断增多,双方对功能完善的综合运输系统需求日益增强。本文采用定性与定量相结合的研究方法,通过分析区际运输通道空间结构现状及客、货流未来发展特点,遵循交通运输与区域经济发展良性互动原则,提出建设6条运输通道与15个二级运输枢纽为骨架,3条运输干线为辅助的网格状区际综合运输通道空间结构,并指出在改善铁路、公路运输方式的同时,要积极开展油气及煤化工产品的管道运输,发挥多种运输方式综合优势,促进区域协调发展。     

The Sherrington–Cushing connection: A bench to bedside collaboration at the dawn of the twentieth century

ABSTRACT

British physiologist Charles Sherrington (1857–1952) and American neurosurgeon Harvey Cushing (1869–1939) were seminal figures in the history of neuroscience. The two came from different worlds, one laboratory-based and the other largely clinical. Their scientific intersection, beginning in July 1901, provides a glimpse into a nascent form of “bench to bedside” collaboration, which carried with it the potential to extend the arm of neurophysiological experimentation from Sherrington’s laboratory to Cushing’s operatory. I reviewed extensive primary source materials archived at Yale University School of Medicine Library. Sherrington viewed Cushing’s bedside work as an opportunity, in humans, to extend his bench-side physiological observations on higher primates, at times almost directing Cushing in the clinic. Cushing would indeed take Sherrington’s observations on apes and extend them to his patients, and the work would eventually overturn the prevailing notion that the motor and sensory cortex were intermixed across the Rolandic fissure.     

古代祈雨仪式的性别研究

祈雨,作为远古人类保证生存的必要手段,一直都是古代社会最重要的巫术仪式,从传世的文献记载来看,形式丰富的祈雨仪式都与女巫(女人)有着不解之缘,她们或是仪式的主持和主角,或是充当祭祀中的献礼,或是在巫术失败的时候被真正的杀害.女人在祈雨仪式中的不可缺失性与我国古老的思想文化传统密切相关,而其在仪式中地位和作用的不断弱化也从一个侧面反映出女性在历史发展过程中整体地位的逐渐下降.     

‘If you can't beat them,be them!’ – everyday experiences and ‘performative agency’ among undocumented migrant youth in South Africa

ABSTRACT

This article explores the challenges and coping strategies of undocumented migrant youth in Cape Town, South Africa. Drawing on a theatre-based case study conducted with a core group of 10 participants the article shows firstly that participants’ lives are affected by emotional, legal and practical challenges such as loneliness, discrimination and fear. Secondly, the article develops the concept of ‘performative agency’ to illustrate how participants cope with and contest their challenges. Specifically, the article shows that the young people's theatrical performances draw on stereotypical notions of vulnerability and victimhood as a means to denounce the discrimination and oppression they experience. In public interactions with others, by contrast, the young migrants use performative agency to emphasise their strengths and positive attributes, thereby enhancing their integration in a hostile environment. The insights provided by this study can help strengthen policy responses to better support undocumented migrant youth in South Africa and elsewhere.     

地方感的研究路径探索：心象运动论的方法

通过多理论思辨，本文认为地方感理论研究中，不同流派之间存在的三对矛盾：流动性与在地性的矛盾，历时性与即时性的矛盾，个体经验与集体意识的矛盾。为调和这三对矛盾，本文探索新的研究方法，即地方感的心象运动路径，主要包括以下内容：①心象与心象运动的概念；②心象运动的认识论；③心象运动论的研究方法。通过这些理论探索，提出地方感研究的新路径，为城市政府的社区管治、提升居民的归属感提供政策参考。     

Generative spaces of gender and feminist geography in Singapore: entanglements of the personal and political

Abstract

While geographers’ work in Southeast Asia has yet to engage substantively with theoretical developments in gender/feminist studies generated by Anglo-American academic centers, we argue that Singapore has proven to be somewhat of an exception. Focusing on the National University of Singapore, this article discusses how the development of gender and feminist geography in Singapore has benefitted from being able to engage with international debates in feminism through the country’s and NUS’ internationalization efforts, and working in the English language. Using the notion of generative spaces, we highlight first, the importance of using our teaching to engage in feminist activism to encourage feminist change in the classroom, as well as within our immediate communities and further afield; and second, the nascent yet significant contributions of feminist geographers based in Singapore to feminist theorization from and about the Global South.     

Pacific Studies in China: Policies,Structure and Research

ABSTRACT

The expansion of Chinese influence in the Pacific has aroused growing attention from academics and policymakers. Although China has established six main Pacific research centres, there has been little investigation into what motivates this increasing interest. Building on the author's recent interviews with 39 Chinese mainstream scholars on the subject of Pacific Studies, this paper aims to fill this gap by providing an in-depth analysis of Pacific Studies in China, especially how centres are structured and what motivated their establishment. It is argued that the initiation, structure and scholarly focus of academic research on the Pacific in China has been largely driven by government policies, but also that government interest has fluctuated under President Xi Jinping. Government policy dependence is a double-edged sword that both promotes and hinders Pacific scholarship.     

Learning from Studs Terkel: listening while making places and spaces for effective interviews during fieldwork

ABSTRACT

Human geographers use many types of research techniques, often in a mixed methods format where multiple approaches and technologies are incorporated in a single study. This reflects the synthetic nature of our discipline, one of its central tenets and a major strength vis-à-vis other disciplines. Interviews are essential to many of our projects, and successful interviews are predicated on successful listening. However, interviewing is as much about being prepared and creating the places and spaces conducive for people to talk and for us to listen, as it is about listening and appreciating what others tell us. Inspired by the writings of the iconic Studs Terkel, this essay summarizes some of the major impediments to effective interviews and suggest some ways to overcome them. The effectiveness of interviews is as much determined by preparation and establishing the setting, timing, and pairings of the people present as it is on the questions asked, and the answers understood.
