为探索"黄岩窑"青瓷的工艺技术及艺术装饰特征,并探讨该窑场与同时期浙东地区的"越窑"青瓷的关系,本研究从田野考古调查入手,通过对黄岩沙埠窑窑址及窑场周围地面考古调查和典型青瓷标本的实物取样,结合科技考古的手段,着重对其产品特征、制瓷工艺技术及烧造年代等方面进行科学研究。通过光学显微镜解剖了黄岩出土青瓷胎釉的内部结构;通过热释光技术对黄岩出土青瓷典型标本进行年代测定;并运用EDXRF技术对黄岩出土青瓷标本和上林湖越窑标本的胎釉化学成分进行检测并对比分析。研究表明:浙江黄岩沙埠窑址是晚唐至南宋时期浙江重要的窑址遗存,具有较高的陶瓷烧造技艺。  相似文献

We report the results of a test excavation of deposits in a limestone cave sub-chamber located beneath the main chamber of Liang Bua, Flores, Indonesia; the discovery site of the small hominin species, Homo floresiensis. Well-preserved remains of extinct Pleistocene fauna and stone artefacts have previously been identified on the surface of a sediment cone within the sub-chamber. Our excavation of the deposits, at the base of the sediment cone in the sub-chamber (to 130 cm depth) yielded only a few fragmentary bones of extant fauna. Uranium/Thorium (U-series or U/Th) dating of soda straw stalactites excavated from 20 to 130 cm in depth demonstrates that the excavated sediments were deposited during the Holocene. Red Thermoluminescence (TL) dating of the sediments at the base of the excavation (130 cm depth) indicates these sediments were last exposed to sunlight at 84 ± 15 ka (thousand years), similar to red TL ages of cave sediments from the main chamber. Together, these results indicate that the surface faunal remains, which are morphologically analogous to Pleistocene finds from the main chamber excavations, were transported to the sub-chamber relatively recently from the main chamber of Liang Bua and probably originated from conglomerate deposits at the rear of the cave and from deposits around the front entrance. There is no evidence for hominin occupation of the sub-chamber, instead it seems to have acted as a sink for cultural materials and fossil remains transported from the surface via sinkholes. Despite the small number of finds from the test excavation, it is possible that more extensive excavations may yield additional transported cultural and faunal evidence at greater depths.  相似文献

New excavations have been undertaken at Diepkloof Rock Shelter (DRS; South Africa) since 1999. It is one of the very few sites where Howiesons Poort and Stillbay assemblages can be collected from the same archaeological sequence. These Middle Stone Age techno-complexes are particularly interesting for their affinities with the much younger Later Stone Age facies, and their association with evidence for symbolic behaviour. Establishing their chronology is therefore particularly important for the understanding of the apparition and the evolution of the so-called “modern” behaviours. Data already available suggest ages ranging from 55 to 80 ka for the Howiesons Poort and from 70 to 80 ka for the Stillbay techno-complexes in several South African sites. The thermoluminescence dating undertaken at DRS on 22 stone samples originating from the entire stratigraphic record indicates intervals starting 10–50 ka earlier for these techno-complexes in this site. Possible caveats in the dating process are examined but to the best of our current knowledge must be rejected.  相似文献

采用常规的热释光细粒混合矿物法、热释光前剂量饱和指数法以及单片再生剂量光释光法三种测年方法,对中国上海、浙江萧山地区出土的7件西周、春秋、战国以及汉代的原始瓷样品进行了年代测定,并对测得的每个样品的3个年代结果与已知年代进行比对。用热释光细粒混合矿物法测定得到了较为理想的年代结果,与样品的已知年代结果相比吻合得较好。用热释光前剂量饱和指数法测定得到了该方法的上限饱和年代,即距今1800年左右。用再生剂量光释光法测定得到了这些样品的年代,只是实际年代的50%-80%左右,结果不太理想。因此,采用热释光细粒混合矿物法测定这类样品的年代,只要解决了制样问题,还是目前较好的测年方法。  相似文献

During a reorganization of the collections at Kent State University (KSU), a fired-clay human figurine was discovered. Beyond the fact that KSU obtained the specimen from a collector, and the alleged origin was the Ohio Hopewell site of Hopeton Earthworks, information on the specimen’s provenience and chain of custody was lacking or ambiguous. To determine whether the artifact was consistent in style and age with Hopewell, we conducted a comparative study, as well as a direct chronometric assessment using thermoluminescence (TL) dating. The comparative study was equivocal: The figurine possessed some attributes consistent with Hopewell, but other features were not consistent or missing. TL dating revealed an age of 4590?±?270, exceeding the Hopewell period by over 2,000 years. These results suggest two mutually exclusive hypotheses, neither of which is relevant to Hopewell: Either the figurine is one of the earliest examples of ceramic technology in eastern North America or it is a “fake,” perhaps from the Old World, and the object entered the KSU collections under pretense. More broadly, we suggest that archaeologists take a much more circumspect approach to collector-acquired objects and perform their due diligence in verifying the stories associated with them, even if that means increased use of destructive testing procedures.  相似文献

Among the dating methods in archaeology, thermoluminescence (TL) is widely developed. The present research concerns the construction chronology of the citadel of Termez (Uzbekistan) in the medieval period. On the methodological side along the TL study, we had to take into account two decisive factors that are expected to affect the accuracy: control of anomalous fading on the polymineral fraction (quartz and feldspars) and the effect of thermal treatments on the luminescence properties of the dated material. With regard to the determination of the annual dose, difficulties, associated with the evolution of the radiochemical composition of the dated samples and their environment over time, were overcome.  相似文献

瓷器热释光测定年代的样品一般都是用厚度为 0 .2 0 .5mm的瓷片 ,这样厚度的瓷片 ,用实验室 β源进行辐照时 ,由于瓷对 β剂量的积累和衰减作用 ,已不能将它作为一个均匀受照体 ,所以瓷器的 β吸收剂量只能用平均剂量来表示。本工作用铝代替瓷 ,用实验和理论计算的方法 ,得到了 β辐照吸收剂量在瓷器中随深度变化的函数 ,根据这个函数 ,可以方便地计算出任何厚度瓷片的 β平均吸收剂量。  相似文献
