广东“南澳Ⅰ号”明代沉船出水铜器腐蚀产物分析

由于海水环境中含有大量氯化物,海洋出水铜器在出水前已发生腐蚀,生成铜的氧化物及氯化物等。本文以广东"南澳Ⅰ号"明代沉船出水的22件铜器残片为研究对象,运用X-射线荧光仪(XRF)、X-射线衍射仪(XRD)和扫描电镜与能谱仪(SEM-EDS)等分析其腐蚀产物和矿物组成,结果表明腐蚀产物主要为铜的碱式氯化物,如Cu2(OH)3Cl和Cu(OH)Cl等,与国外已有研究成果类似,但Cu(OH)Cl在国外海洋出水铜器腐蚀产物中并不常见。     

Soil fertility and slope processes in the Western Cumberland Escarpment of Kentucky: influences on the development of horticulture in the Eastern Woodlands

The archaeological record of dry rockshelters in the Red River Valley of eastern Kentucky contains botanical remains of several weedy annual seed-bearing plants that point to the independent development of agriculture during the Late Archaic and Early Woodland Period. The objective of this study is to gather quantitative data through the chemical and physical analysis of soils collected within a valley transect to gain insights into landscape processes and soil fertility that may have played a role in the early development of plant domestication and the location of garden plots in relation to rock shelter sites in the upper Cumberland Plateau region of eastern Kentucky. Soils on upland benches formed in limestones have soil fertility values that are comparable to fertile floodplain soils. Upslope outcrops of calcareous bedrock are contributing basic cations to these bench soils. Additionally, in comparison to other landscape positions these upland soils have high levels of organic carbon, available P and greater C:N ratios. Soil morphology, radiocarbon dates, and archaeological evidence indicate that many of the numerous earthflows and debris flows within the region are Early to Middle Holocene in age. These slides were likely generated by Mid-Holocene climatic shifts in which the frequency and intensity of summer precipitation increased across the southeastern United States. These slope failures may have contributed to the development of plant domestication by creating forest canopy gaps and disturbed soils in which weedy plants thrived.     

Irrigated taro (Colocasia esculenta) farming in North Kohala,Hawai‘i: sedimentology and soil nutrient analyses

How did traditional farming transform the natural environment in the Hawaiian Islands? This question is one that has largely been addressed for rainfed farming of crops like sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas), but evidence is lacking for irrigated farming of the critical staple crop taro (Colocasia esculenta). We describe the results of soil nutrient and sedimentological analyses of deeply-stratified pondfield deposits representing a 600-year-long record of irrigated taro farming in the North Kohala District, Hawai‘i Island. Soil is categorized by particle size to determine modes of transport and deposition, and concurrent soil nutrient analyses were conducted to infer shifts in the source of sediments and changes associated with taro harvesting. The advent of farming is clearly detectable in sedimentology, the presence of charcoal found within sediments, and soil chemistry. However, diminished nutrient concentrations can be attributed largely to deposition of a mixture of upstream sediments. Overall, there is no clear evidence for nutrient draw-down by taro harvesting, but we cannot yet rule it out as a factor. This study demonstrates the inherent difficulty of correlating changes in soil nutrients evident in irrigated pondfields with the long term history of soil nutrient cycling.     

QUICK ESTIMATES OF SOFT SEDIMENT THICKNESSES FROM AMBIENT NOISE HORIZONTAL TO VERTICAL SPECTRAL RATIOS: A CASE STUDY IN SOUTHERN ITALY

An approach devoted to quickly assess the thickness of soft sedimentary cover in areas of unknown subsurface morphology is applied in this study. In particular, soil thickness (h) is derived by combining estimates of the resonance frequency (f _r ) relative to soft sediments with the local shear-wave velocity (V_s) profile. For this purpose, (f _r ) values are assessed from horizontal to vertical (H/V) spectral ratios of seismic noise recordings and the (V _s ) profile is obtained by considering information from shallow seismic surveys. Results obtained for a Quaternary sedimentary basin in Southern Italy are discussed. Since in the investigated area only weak independent constraints are available, special emphasis is given to the assessment of uncertainties involved in this estimate of soil thickness.     

A palynological and geoarchaeological investigation into Bronze Age farming at Belderg Beg,Co. Mayo,Ireland

This contribution describes the results and interpretations of geoarchaeological and palynological analyses of a soil profile near to a ¹⁴C dated Bronze Age roundhouse in a sub-peat field system at Belderg Beg, north Mayo in western Ireland, which displayed field-scale evidence of tillage in the form of cultivation ridges. This evidence of arable cultivation was supported by the presence of quernstones in the roundhouse, but there was no supporting evidence from other forms of socio-economic analysis. Soil micromorphological analysis was employed to define how the ridges were created and with what tools; pollen analysis was used to characterise the surface vegetation and test the purpose of the ridges. The results unequivocally showed that a phase of ard cultivation was followed after a brief hiatus by ridge-and-furrow tillage. There were tentative indications of possible amendment of the earlier, ard-worked soil, and more definitive evidence of midden material addition to the ridged soil. An AMS radiocarbon assay on the base of peat overlying the ridges indicated that tillage occurred in the Mid to Late Bronze Age.     

陕北明长城夯土密度与雨蚀破坏的量化研究

为量化研究夯土性质对陕北明长城遗址雨蚀破坏模式的影响作用,采用室内模拟降雨试验的方法对夯土密度和雨蚀量间的关系进行定量化分析。研究结果显示,大到暴雨条件下,干湿作用产生的破坏是低强度夯土(密度1.5 g·cm^-3、1.6 g·cm^-3)最主要的雨蚀破坏模式,冲刷破坏造成的雨蚀量较小;水力侵蚀产生的冲刷破坏和重力侵蚀引起的小范围掉块是高强度夯土(密度1.7~1.9 g·cm^-3)最主要的破坏模式,冲刷破坏造成的雨蚀量较大;当土体含水率在3%~7%区间时,夯土的雨蚀量和密度呈指数函数关系,二者呈现正相关性。研究结果为探索多因素作用下夯土雨蚀的破坏机制提供方法借鉴,是土遗址病害研究的重要组成部分。     

明代御窑遗址出土孔雀绿釉、洒蓝釉、瓜皮绿釉瓷器分析

以往由于实物资料的匮乏,孔雀绿釉、洒蓝釉、瓜皮绿釉瓷器很少有从科学技术方面进行的研究,近年由于景德镇明代御窑遗址几次较大规模的考古发掘,极大丰富了这方面的资料。为了从科技方面更深入了解这类瓷釉的性质并为其以后的保护提供资料,本研究采用显微形貌观测法、激光剥蚀进样电感耦合等离子体光谱、能量色散X荧光和扫描电镜等对这些考古出土的宣德时期的孔雀绿釉、洒蓝釉、瓜皮绿釉瓷器进行了分析。分析揭示了这三种釉的形貌特点、腐蚀现象、胎釉组成、釉层元素分布情况,发现了胎釉之间有化妆土的存在并揭示了此物质的成分特点,讨论了高碱釉的工艺特征、瓷釉性质、剥釉机理。分析结果可为后续保护研究提供参考。     

镇安寺铁牛腐蚀产物及腐蚀机制研究

镇安寺铁牛全身腐蚀严重,弄清铁牛腐蚀原因及其影响因素,可为铁牛后续修复和保护提供依据。本研究采用扫描电子显微镜、X射线衍射仪和激光共焦拉曼光谱仪等方法分析了铁牛表面腐蚀产物的形貌、组成、结构及其腐蚀原因。结果表明,铁牛腹部为亚共晶白口铸铁,组织中含有多种相及夹杂物使铁牛耐蚀性能降低;铁牛表面腐蚀产物有严重的分层现象,外层和内层腐蚀产物较为致密,主要成分为α-FeOOH和Fe_3O_4;中间层腐蚀产物较为疏松,主要成分为γ-FeOOH和Fe_3O_4;铁牛耳朵、左脚和尾部腐蚀产物主要含有α-FeOOH、γ-FeOOH、Fe_3O_4和α-Fe_2O_3等,且α-FeOOH在锈蚀产物中含量最高;不同部位腐蚀产物组成存在明显差异,耳朵处腐蚀产物α-FeOOH和γ-FeOOH含量比(α/γ值)最小,左脚处最大;分析了铁牛腐蚀影响因素和腐蚀机制。
