对高校教学管理科学化问题的思考

高校教学管理的科学化是高校教学工作、教学管理工作发展的必然要求,也是高校提高教育质量的基拳保证。本文就高校教学管理科学化的作用、内容、基础、关键、保障等方面进行了粗略的探讨。     

陶行知与汇文书院

作为教会大学毕业生的陶行知,在金陵大学求学期间,陶行知从一个尚且懵懂的徽州少年,转变成了一名追求自由民主、信奉“知行合一”的先进青年,成为他“爱满天下”的教育事业的逻辑起点。可谓金陵大学是陶行知早年智悲双修、悟证光明的菩提树。本文将通过陶行知在早期金陵大学求学经历的考察,探讨近代中国知识分子与教会学校间的特殊关系。     

Aboriginal Performance on Standardized Tests: Evidence and Analysis from Provincial Schools in British Columbia

Many indigenous populations are experiencing rural-to-urban migration. In making this transition, indigenous peoples are entering industrial societies where most income derives from wages or salaries, and formal educational achievement is crucial in determining economic prospects. This research analyzes the gap in test score results between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students in public schools in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It finds a strong effect of school quality, as measured by non-Aboriginal achievement, on Aboriginal achievement. It also finds a nonlinear negative relationship between Aboriginal achievement and the number of Aboriginal students in a school over the empirically observed range. It thus suggests a possible trade-off and dilemma between, on the one hand, policies that enable Aboriginal students to concentrate in a few schools able to provide a culturally sensitive curriculum and, on the other, policies to maximize Aboriginal academic achievement.     

金代私学教育

私学是金代教育的重要组成部分,也是金代官学的一种必要补充。金代"学而优则仕"的传统学习观念和人才选拔思想,辽、宋的私学传统以及私人刊刻、印卖书籍的普遍现象,构成金代私学发展的重要因素。在长期的发展过程中,依据教学内容、创办者、办学目的的不同,金代私学分为家学、女真贵族官僚家塾、学者自设私塾、官宦私塾和自学等五大类型。与其他朝代私学相比,金代私学具有类型多样化、设置早于官学、教育对象比官学更加广泛等自身特色。金代私学对于金代文化知识的传播和发展,科学文化教育的普及、交流,以及各民族文化素质的提高,均起到重要的促进作用。     

党校图书馆的特殊性及发展思路

本文阐述了党校图书馆工作的特殊性,分析了制约党校图书馆发展的主要因素,并提出了相应的对策措施。     

激发学生的写作兴趣

根据《语文课程标准》中写作教学的总目标：“能具体明确,文从字顺地表述自己的意思。能根据日常生活需要,运用常见的表达方式写作。”由此可以看出,去除学生对于作文的畏惧心理,注重激发学生的写作兴趣和自信心,养成良好的写作习惯将是初中作文教学的首要任务。现将笔者在初中作文教学探讨中的一些经验拿来与大家同享,希望对作文教学有所裨益。     

浅谈小学语文教学改革的创新

我国小学语文教育,是最基础的教育,它不仅仅要培养学生们,正确地运用文字以及掌握文字,而且还要通过文字这个工具,为后续的学习与各项门科打下竖实的基础。     

让语文课堂成为学生的乐园——初中语文教学之浅见

语文是一门应用最广泛,最接近生活,内容最丰富多彩,最有情趣的学科,语文也应该是学生最感兴趣的课程。然而,深受应试教育影响的中学语文教学将充满人性之美、最具有趣味性的语文变成枯燥乏味的技艺之学,知识之学,乃至畸交为一种应试训练。这种现状与时代发展和社会变革对素质教育的要求相对立。语文教学要走出应试教育的误区,教师必须充分展示课堂教学的魅力,使语文课成为学生求知的乐园。     

让学生在阅读中感受文本的美

《语文课程标准》在关于阅读教学的建议中指出”：阅读是搜集处理信息、认识世界、发展思维、获得审美体验的重要途径。”文质兼美的语文教材为我们展现了一个璀璨夺目的美的世界。我们应积极引导学生通过文本阅读感受语文之美。语文教学是真善美的统一,是以求真为基础向善的迈进;而美则是向着善的目标迈进的最佳途径。因此我认为,语文课堂教学既是一门科学,又是一门艺术。而阅读是学生应该掌握的一项基本技能。让学生在阅读中提升写作技能、开拓视界、放飞心灵,进而在享受中去阅读,这是做为一个语文教师应该做到的。合理运用阅读能够逐步培养学生探究性学习和创造性学习的能力,教师要引导学生在读中体会情感,在读中获取信患,在读中得到精神的享受。     

Too late to buy a home? School redistricting and the timing and extent of capitalization

In the past 50 years, a voluminous literature estimating the value of schools through capitalization in home prices has emerged. Prior research has identified capitalization using a variety of approaches including discontinuities caused by boundaries. Here, we use changes in school boundaries and the opening of a new school in Fayette County (Lexington), Kentucky to identify this capitalization. Critical to properly estimating the effect of redistricting is to account for when information on redistricting is available. We treat the information about the effects of zoning as occurring in three stages: announcement of the intent to open the new high school and redistricting, approval of the specific redistricting plan (map), and implementation (opening of the new high school and actual changes in boundaries). We find significant changes in values for homes redistricted from lower-performing schools and we find that this capitalization occurs well before implementation of the redistricting. As we show, failure to account for capitalization occurring before implementation will attenuate and even change the sign of capitalization.
