Pérez, D.E., Alvarez, M.J. & Santelli, M.B., July 2016. Reassessment of Neovenericor Rossi de García, Levy & Franchi, 1980 (Bivalvia: Carditidae) using a geometric morphometric approach, and revision of planicostate carditids from Argentina. Alcheringa 41, xxx–xxx. ISSN0311-5518.
Various systematic approaches have been applied to the Neogene planicostate carditids of Patagonia. Some authors have included these species within Venericor (known from the Eocene of North America and Europe) or in Megacardita (recorded from the Miocene of Europe). By contrast, Rossi de García et al. erected the endemic Neovenericor in 1980 for Patagonian species. The three proposed genera have variable outlines and similar hinge teeth configuration. Two geometric morphometric analyses were performed, which included the type species of the following taxa: M. jouanneti (middle Miocene, Mediterranean Basin), V. planicosta (middle Eocene, Paris Basin) and N. austroplata (early Miocene, Chenque Formation, Chubut Province). In the first approach, an Elliptic Fourier Analysis was used to test the general variability of outlines. In the second, a landmark-based method was employed to analyse the hinge configuration, followed by a Discriminant Function Analysis. The outline analysis discriminated Megacardita from the other two taxa based on its more elongate and rectangular shells. The Landmark Analysis distinguished the three taxa based on both, left and right hinges. The Discriminant Function Analysis showed significant values for this differentiation. Neovenericor has a higher hinge plate, broader and less posteriorly inclined teeth, and a less sinuous ventral edge than Megacardita; and it has larger and more posteriorly inclined teeth than Venericor. Other morphological characters of the genus include an intermediate number of radial ribs that do not dissipate ventrally, and wide and deep intercostal spaces. Thus, Neovenericor is clearly a distinct taxon. All Argentinian planicostate carditids were revised and included in this genus because they embrace its diagnostic features.

A very powerful set of changes is affecting manufacturing industry in countries of Latin America undergoing market opening. This is particularly true for regions where there has been special protection to encourage industrial location in previous decades. Such is the case for Patagonia, where Tierra del Fuego and Chubut (television and textile industries, respectively) were studied. Current changes, including the tariff reductions associated with the creation of MERCOSUR, but also the liberalisation measures begun earlier by the Menem government, leave these industries very exposed because of their artificial nature and lack of any close industrial structure linking them to the region. Some solutions for these regions are suggested at the end of the article, including the use of tools aimed at the workforce and management rather than capital investment. 相似文献
Today, there should be little doubt that new reproductive technologies have ‘diversified, globalized, and denaturalized’ human reproduction (Inhorn and Birenbaum-Carmeli 2008). Not only have assisted reproductive technologies developed and spread throughout the world at a rapid pace, but this significant development has also given rise to a global market of cross-border reproductive care (CBRC). This article seeks to investigate CBRC between Sweden and the Baltic states, in which Swedish infertility patients travel to private fertility clinics as recipients of egg donation. This article argues that the restructuring of the European space (occurring in and through both the so-called ‘transition’ of the former Eastern Bloc and the expansion of the European Union) constitutes crucial conditions of emergence for the trans-European market of infertility care, which not only results in new modalities of reproductive mobility but also articulates a new set of interrelated European gendered reproductive subjectivities. Particular attention will be paid to the ways in which such ‘new reproductive subjectivities’ – here exemplified by a sample of cross-border donor egg recipients – are articulated in relation to notions of ‘choice’ and what I call ‘biodesirability’, and how such notions cannot be exempt from its specific post-socialist European context. 相似文献
AbstractTransdisciplinary environmental research (TD research) seeks to solve problems arising at the point of interaction between ecological systems, the economy, and society. It seeks to enhance problem-solving capacity through interdisciplinarity and knowledge transfer between scientific and non-scientific actors. The article assesses how far the prerequisites for knowledge transfer are met in transdisciplinary projects on integrated water resources management (IWRM), particularly in post-socialist transition countries. It examines two relevant case studies, in Ukraine and Mongolia, which share a similar institutional and cultural background, and use some of the same methods closely related to knowledge transfer. It is shown that, in each case, knowledge transfer was achieved more or less effectively in both directions — from science to society and vice versa, despite the additional obstacles posed by a common post-socialist legacy. The paper concludes with a number of recommendations for designing and implementing similar TD research projects in the field of IWRM. 相似文献
Ferrari, S.M., September 2012. The genera Cryptaulax and Procerithium (Procerithiidae, Caenogastropoda) in the Early Jurassic of Patagonia, Argentina. Alcheringa 36, 325–339. ISSN 0311-5518. New species of Cryptaulax and Procerithium (Procerithiidae, Caenogastropoda) are reported from the Lower Jurassic (Pliensbachian–Toarcian) marine deposits of west-central Chubut province, Argentinean Patagonia. Three new species are described: Cryptaulax redelii, Procerithium (Rhabdocolpus) patagoniensis and Procerithium (Infacerithum) nodosum; and the diagnoses of Cryptaulax damboreneae Ferrari and Procerithium nulloi (Ferrari) are emended. The new fossils derive from the Mulanguiñeu and Osta Arena formations and expand the known diversity of the Procerithiidae, extending its palaeobioeographical distribution into the South American Jurassic. 相似文献
This contribution will address the issue of trust (and distrust) in a period of (Central) European transition. This will be illustrated using the example of the bazaars in the greater Łódź region. As the bazaar trade did and does play an important role in the adaptation necessary in a period of transition, they are used as a proxy for the post‐socialist societies in the 1990s and the first decade of the twentieth century. The role of trust, especially, in the current spatial or horizontal outreach will be discussed. 相似文献
