The emergence of a ‘norm of normalcy’ in 19th century laboratories and hospitals was in no way simply a byproduct of the scientific search for knowledge. It was instead closely associated with expectations of social egalitarianism which merged with the moral economy of a new scientific objectivity. The establishment of normal people as a valid measure for a population socially divided and segregated in estates was thus an essential element of the processes of social formation which created our modern society.     

皖江经济带城市空间演化态势研究

城市空间演化包括两个方面,即城市建设用地的规模扩展和城市建设用地的数量分配比例及空间结构演变。本文首先提出了皖江经济带城市用地扩展的时序特征、类型特点、景观表现和效益特征,并相应分析了其形成机制。然后就皖江经济带及各城市的城市用地结构变化程度、变动方向和类型、与城市职能的关系等特征及形成机制进行详细的分析。     

Klippel‐Feil syndrome in an Early Hungarian Period juvenile skeleton from Austria

The excellently preserved skeleton of a juvenile from the Early Hungarian Period (10^th century AD), recently excavated in Gnadendorf (Lower Austria), displays typical symptoms of Type II congenital ‘Klippel‐Feil syndrome’ (KFS): fused cervical vertebrae 2 and 3, and fused thoracic vertebrae 2 and 3. Other features observed in this skeleton clinically reported for KFS include a basilar impression and a spina bifida occulta. The bilateral symmetrical hypoplasia of the basilar part of the occipital bone is probably also linked to this syndrome, as well as the constricted external acoustic meati, which almost certainly led to hearing impairment. A cranial lesion and its possible consequences are discussed in the context of the specific KFS alterations. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

区域生态经济规划若干问题研究

区域生态经济规划的研究工作在我国始于20世纪80年代,起步较晚,仍处于初级阶段。本文从规划的主要对象、指导思想、理论依据、追求目标、所处阶段等方面比较了区域生态经济规划的差异,指出区域生态经济规划必须遵循整体性、区域性、市场经济、技术进步与创新、三效益并重统一、以人为本等基本原则,论述了区域生态经济规划的基本内容和编制程序,最后对编制好区域生态经济规划提出了三条建议,即:①加强领导,组织强有力的规划队伍;②抓住关键问题,不要面面俱到;③因地制宜,从实际出发。

元英宗谪高丽忠宣王于吐蕃原因探析

元英宗曾谪高丽忠宣王王璋于在蕃,其原因史料中虽有所记载,但语焉不详,本对此进行探析,指出：元英宗谪王璋于吐蕃,具体罪名是王璋执迷于佛教,而深层次的实质性原因则在于英宗与其祖母太皇太后答己之间的宫廷斗争,王璋是答己的亲信,成为了英宗的清除对象;王璋与宦伯颜秃古思的矛盾则是引发英宗处罚王璋的导火线。     

河南省出土石磬初探

本文对河南出土石磬的时代、分布、形制、纹饰、音乐性能等特征进行了分析研究.结果表明,河南石磬的发展繁荣阶段主要集中于商代(特磬)和东周时期(编磬),形制纹饰表现为由粗糙到精致、由素面→绘纹→刻纹→刻铭的发展趋势,音乐性能则体现了所属时代音乐理论的发展水平.     

皖北、豫东地区大汶口文化的分期与性质

近年来,随着皖北、豫东地区大汶口文化材料的丰富以及山东南部大汶口文化的新发现和新认识,对皖北、豫东地区的大汶口文化进行深入研究已具备了条件。本文就该地区大汶口文化的分期与性质等有关问题作初步探讨,望方家给予指正。一 本文的皖北地区是指安徽北部淮河以北,包括今淮北市、亳州市、宿州市全部和阜阳市一部分。（图一）皖北地区大汶口文化遗存的发现要追溯到２０世纪５０年代①,２０世纪６０年代发掘萧县花甲寺遗址②时,就发现大汶口文化时期的地层堆积和遗物（曾被归入龙山文化）,在山东地区确认了大汶口文化后,随即把花…     

To be and to continue being a cog: the conservation of the Bremen Cog of 1380

The conservation project for the Bremen Cog of 1380 took 38 years from salvage to presentation of the ship to the public in the Deutsches Schiffahrtsmuseum in 2000. The ship was salvaged from the River Weser in about 2000 pieces, and stored in water tanks. A new museum was built, and the Cog reassembled from the waterlogged timbers. The ship was reconstructed with most of the weight being taken by the ceiling of the hall via a steel-rod hanging system. Then a conservation tank was built around the hull, and a novel two-step PEG-treatment applied, especially developed for the Cog. In two consecutive baths PEG 200 and PEG 3000 stabilized lesser degraded and heavily degraded wood against shrinkage, splitting, and warping. After cleaning, the wood looks dark brown, dry, and natural. The extraordinary project is regarded a success.
