To evaluate the strength hierarchy, three different types of exterior beam-column joint, i.e., gravity load designed, non ductile and ductile, following two different codes are considered. Strength of different components of beam-column joint, i.e., column, beam, and joint core, is individually calculated from different failure criteria. Shear strength of the joint is evaluated from softened strut and tie model. Strength hierarchy, ultimate strength, and critical failure modes of the specimens are analytically estimated and found to be well corroborated with the experimental results. The study will help in designing the earthquake resistant RC structures in a more rational way.  相似文献

Analytical studies are carried out to investigate the effectiveness of finite element modeling procedures in accurately capturing the nonlinear cyclic response of beam-column subassemblies. The analyses are performed using program VecTor2, employing only default or typical material constitutive models and behavior mechanisms in order to assess analysis capabilities without the need for special modeling techniques or program modifications. The specimens considered cover a wide range of conditions, and include interior and exterior seismically and non seismically designed beam-column subassemblies. It is shown that finite element analyses can achieve good accuracy in determining the strength, deformation response, energy dissipation, and failure mode of reinforced concrete beam-column subassemblies under seismic loading conditions.  相似文献

This article describes an experimental study carried out on of reinforced concrete (RC) walls of less confining reinforcement than that recommended by ACI 318. A total of eight RC walls with boundary elements comprising of five walls with aspect ratio of 1.125 and three walls with aspect ratio of 1.625 were tested by subjecting them to low levels of axial compression loading and simulated seismic loading, to examine the structural performance of the walls with limited transverse reinforcement. Conclusions are reached concerning the failure mode, drift capacity, strength capacity, components of top deformation, and energy dissipation characteristics of walls on the seismic behavior with limited transverse reinforcement. The influences of axial loading, transverse reinforcement in the wall boundary elements, and the presence of construction joints at the wall base on the seismic behavior of walls are also studied in this paper. Lastly, reasonable strut-and-tie models are developed to help in understanding the force transfer mechanism in the walls tested.  相似文献

An experimental study has been conducted on a reduced-scale gravity-load designed test frame to investigate its overall performance due to the addition of steel fiber-reinforced concrete (SFRC) at the critical regions. Two geometrically similar specimens, namely, reinforced concrete (RC) and SFRC, are tested under slow-cyclic lateral loading. End-hooked steel fibers (aspect ratio = 80) of 1.0% volume fraction were used in the SFRC mix for a distance of one-and-half times the member size near the joint regions. The addition of steel fibers improved the damage tolerance, lateral load resisting capacity, lateral stiffness, ductility, and energy dissipation of the frame.  相似文献

The seismic performance of superimposed reinforced concrete (RC) shear walls is decreased by rocking behavior and damage concentration at the horizontal joint. An enhanced horizontal joint method is proposed to improve the corresponding seismic performance. To validate the reliability of the proposed method, three full-scale superimposed walls and a cast-in-place shear wall (for comparison) are designed and tested under the quasi-static load. The test results indicate that the rocking phenomenon can be prevented using the proposed method, and the seismic performance of superimposed RC shear walls with enhanced horizontal joints is comparable to that of the cast-in-place RC shear walls.  相似文献

Seismic performance assessment is carried out for reinforced concrete structure built in low-strength concrete lacking confining ties in beam-column joint. Shake-table tests were performed on 1/3rd scaled two-story frame using design-spectrum-compatible accelerogram, scaled to various target levels. The frame is observed with beam longitudinal bar slip and pullout. Joints with no confining ties experienced extensive damage, observed with cover/core concrete spalling. The frame could resist 70% of the design ground motion to remain within the code-specified drift limit. The code requirement for minimum column depth will not avoid joint damageability in case of low-strength concrete and joints lacking confining ties.  相似文献

At the end of the nineteenth century, and more pronouncedly between the two World Wars, Jews in Eastern Europe created wide networks of credit cooperatives, which at their peak supported about a third of the non-Soviet Jewish population in Eastern Europe. The establishment and continuous management of these cooperatives were greatly assisted by the two major Jewish philanthropic organizations of the period, the Jewish Colonization Association (JCA) and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). These organizations acted as charitable institutions but also as third-sector organizations which aspired both to assist and to socially engineer East European Jewish society. In British Mandate Palestine a Zionist branch of the movement was established, which was, however, free from the influences of these philanthropic organizations. The article describes and analyzes this little-researched phenomenon while seeking to place it within the theoretical frameworks of philanthropy and transnationalism. It concludes with an observational comparison between the political context in which Jewish credit cooperatives were created, namely East European ethnic regimes, and the Israeli ethnic democracy.  相似文献

Strength hierarchy assessment is a method that can be utilized to identify the weakest structural element at a reinforced concrete (RC) beam-column joint. The method was extensively used in various research activities at the University of Canterbury, which mainly involved beam-column joint subassembly tests. However, this method required improvements and refinements in order to be adopted in multi-story building applications. In this paper, the improvements made to the method are reported. In the improved method, capacity of the weakest element at every beam-column joint in an RC frame building can be related to the corresponding global base shear demand. The method has been illustrated via two example applications: an RC frame lacking joint shear reinforcement and a modern RC frame with adequate joint shear reinforcement. The case study examples confirmed the accuracy and the effectiveness of the method.  相似文献

为保护古建筑,采用试验方法,研究了不同方法加固榫卯节点后木构架的抗震性能。基于故宫太和殿某开间梁柱节点的具体尺寸,制作了1:8比例的4梁4柱木结构空间框架模型,其中梁和柱考虑为燕尾榫形式连接。采用人工加载方式,进行了低周反复加载试验,研究了马口铁、CFRP布和钢构件加固榫卯节点后对木构架抗震性能的影响。基于试验结果,获得了加固前后构架的力-侧移滞回曲线和骨架曲线,分析了构架耗能能力、刚度退化规律及变形能力,对不同方法加固木构架的抗震效果进行了对比,对其工程应用提出了建议。  相似文献
