Shake Table Test and Numerical Analysis of a Bridge Model Supported on Elastomeric Pad Bearings

Elastomeric pad bearings are widely applied in short- to medium-span girder bridges in China, with the superstructure restrained by reinforced concrete (RC) shear keys in the transverse direction. Field investigations after the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake reveal that bearing systems had suffered the most serious damage, such as span falling, bearing displaced, and shear key failure, while the piers and foundations underwent minor damage. As part of a major study on damage mechanism and displacement control method for short- to medium-span bridges suffered in Wenchuan earthquake, a 1:4 scale, two-span bridge model supported on elastomeric pad bearings were recently tested on shake tables at Tongji University, Shanghai. The bridge model was subjected to increasing levels of four seismic excitations possessing different spectral characteristics. Two restraint systems with and without the restraint of RC shear keys were tested. A comprehensive analytical modeling of the test systems was also performed using OpenSees. The experimental results confirmed that for the typical bridges on elastomeric pad bearings without RC shear keys, the sliding effect of the elastomeric pad bearings plays an important role in isolation of ground motions and, however, lead to lager bearing displacement that consequently increases the seismic risk of fall of span, especially under earthquakes that contain significant mid-period contents or velocity pulse components. It is suggested from the test results that RC shear keys should be elaborately designed in order to achieve a balance between isolation efficiency and bearing displacement. Good correlation between the analytical and the experimental data indicates that the analytical models for the bearing and RC shear key as well as other modeling assumptions were appropriate.     

基于价值转移方法的我国游憩活动价值评价

鉴于目前我国在构建价值转移模型中存在的限制因素,本文采用基于Meta分析的价值转移方法并尝试利用国外游憩活动价值评价的实证研究结果,构建基于Meta分析的国际间价值函数转移模型,估算了我国10种游憩活动的日平均消费者剩余.通过将价值转移模型估算的游憩活动价值“转移值”与国内97个游憩价值评价的“真实值”做比较,对价值转移模型的有效性和可靠性进行统计检验,平均转移误差为18.74％.最后,总结了提高我国Meta回归价值转移模型的具体、可操作性方法及途径.     

Constructing and practicing feminist pedagogy in Taiwan using a field study of the Twenty-Five Ladies Tomb

Drawing on theories of space, gender, and participatory learning, central concepts in feminist pedagogy, the author designed a university-level general-education course that took the Twenty-Five Ladies Tomb in southern Taiwan as the focus of a field study and class discussion. This local gendered site, which commemorates a 1973 ferry accident that killed 25 unmarried young women working in Kaohsiung, raises issues about patriarchy in Taiwan, gender inequities in traditional Han customs, and women's labor. The course relied on guided class discussions and focus-group discussions, culminating in a visit to the site. Face to face with the researched, the author not only built an inclusive and supportive relationship with students in the classroom, but also put her researcher's reflexivity into teaching practice. Research results indicate that the freedom of the class discussion format succeeded in breaking down the logic of binary opposition that accompanies the traditional gender duality of male/female. Avoiding a top-down teaching style also minimized students' resistance to perspectives emphasizing gender equality.     

Delivering Microfinance in Developing Countries: Controversies and Policy Perspectives

The article reviews three major controversies in the microfinance field: vehicles, technologies, and performance assessments for financial service delivery. Then it proposes that these controversies be resolved by a perspective emphasizing institutional plurality and external and internal efficiencies for individual programs. Questions for further research are discussed in the conclusion.

本在对国际边界争端的典型案例进行研究后,指出地图在解决争端中发挥着重要的作用,并从国际法的角度研究了众多标明南沙群岛属于中国的中外地图,进一步指出南海断续国界线是中国拥有南沙主权的重要依据和标准。     

我国服务业发展的基本特征与空间差异研究

改革开放以来,我国服务业发展迅速。服务业在经济增长方式转变、产业结构优化升级和吸纳就业人口等方面发挥着越来越重要的作用。本文从服务业的演进阶段、增长行为、内部结构、地区发展不平衡等方面对我国服务业发展的基本特征进行了分析。在此基础上探讨三大地带间、三大地带内和31个省(市)间服务业发展的区域差异,从空间上将我国服务业发展水平划分成发达、次发达、较发达、欠发达和不发达五个基本类型,旨在对未来我国服务业的发展,尤其是不同类型区服务业的差异化发展提供理论依据。
