Le classement des differentes paroles en Gn 1 selon des formules-cadre a permis à Paul Beauchamp de faire la brillante proposition que l'on sait sur la composition littéraire de ce texte. La question reste cependant posée de savoir combien de paroles de commandement se lisent en fait en Gn 1, le chiffre dix ne pouvant être obtenu sans quelque artifice discutable. Si l'on s'en tient aux données les plus obvies du texte, on peut alors risquer l'étude de sa structure littéraire á partir des recurrences verbales, lesquelles permettent, en exploitant plusieurs remarques de Paul Beauchamp, mais aussi en mettant à profit les anciennes distinctions entre opus distinctionis et opus ornatus, ou entre contenants et contenus, de découvrir les structures littéraires de Gn 1, 3-31, mais aussi de 1, 1-2 et 2, 1-4a, ainsi que des rapports structurels entre ces derniers et l'ensemble de 1, 3-31.     

EMU: A Worthwhile Gamble

In a year from now, eleven of the current fifteen member states of the EU will, in all probability, sign up to European Monetary Union. In this article Pierre Jacquet looks at the reasons for widespread EMU support and at the economic as well as the political rationale for the single currency. Weighing up the cost-benefit analysis of monetary union and comparing it to alternatives, the author argues that EMU is a worthwhile gamble and that the task should now be to make it a success. This implies the willingness of member states to undergo overdue structural reforms and to be more forthcoming in promoting an effective coordination of economic policies.     

The Stone Tidal Fish Weirs of the Molène Archipelago,Iroise Sea,Brittany, Western France: a long‐term tradition with early megalithic origins

This reports on a project that combined evidence gleaned from aerial photographs, place‐names, interviews, topography, LIDAR data, and sonar bathymetry to locate stone tidal fish weirs in the Molène Archipelago. The results were verified by diver and pedestrian visual surveys. Models of Holocene sea‐level change allowed a group of possibly Late Mesolithic–Early Neolithic weirs to be recognized, with a second group broadly dated to the later Neolithic–Early Bronze Age. The construction of these long megalithic structures is compared to the funerary monuments for which the Molène Archipelago is well known, in terms of technique, cost, and societal organization.
