Abeautiful place called Tsomey Village is situated in the valley on the west bank of the Tohlung River in Mar Town of Tohlung Deche County. Dondrup Drolma, a 62-year-old Tibetan lady, has retired from ber previous post as the director of the local women＇s federation. Evenso, she looks healthy and has a healthy body shape. Her appearance does not show any sign of the obesity usually resulting from old age.     

A Former Little Monk Becomes a Star of Tibetan-Comic Performance

With silvery hair and a kindly countenance that clearly shows his 70-plus years, he frequently appears on the streets of Lhasa energeticallyriding a bike. He is well known with locals as a star comic and the famous Tibetan winner in the 4th Chinese Peony Awards, the highest award for comedy duo performance in China.     

A RECORD OF THE ENTHRONEMENT OF

July 4th, 2010, which was also May 23rd of the irontiger year according to the Tibetan calendar, was a most auspicious day. Tibetan Buddhism welcomed this very important event, drawing lots from the golden urn to search for the soul boy of the Fifth Detrul reincarnation. Over 150 representatives from all walks of life and adherents witnessed this great event in Tibetan Buddhism in front of the statue of Sakyamuni in the Jokhang Temple.
