Travel in the GRANARY OF TIBRT

Shigaste, in the interior of Tibet, is well known as the ＂Tibetan granary＂. In August, the winter wheat of this area is being harvested and people everywhere are busy at the threshing floor. The yellow wheat seeds and straw fragments are clouding the sky and falling separately to the flooragain. Looking inside the cluster of greenhouses, a variety of fruits and vegetables has become mature. Others, just sprouting, appear very fresh. In harvest season, walking across the fields, the interior of Tibet is teeming with life.

A puddle of meltwater was blown down from the top of the tent. It splashed on Phubu＇s face and woke him up. It was broad daylight. Phumo looked to be sleeping soundly and peacefully. So he did not wake her, just quietly sneaked out of the tent. The frozen surface of the Ra-og Lake was covered by snow. Everything was in white. A rainbow arched across the snow-clad mountain top. Phubu breathed in deeply, taking in the cold and crisp air. He stretched his legs for a bit, and came back into the tent.

tibetans are fond of carrying knives for different purposes such as domestic use, primary production, and self-protection as well as just for decoration. Tibetan knives have a history of over 1,000 years. It is quite difficult to produce a Tibetan knife and usually the blade is forged in steel while the knife handle is often made of either yak horn or hard wood. Tibetan knives are classified into three kinds,
