Detection of parasite eggs from a moat encircling the royal palace of Silla, the ancient Korean Kingdom

We conducted a paleo-parasitological study on soil samples from the ancient moat ruins of Weolseong palace, of the Silla Dynasty (BC 57–AD 935) of Korea. Based on the cultural remains found in the mud-soil layer, the layer was precipitated onto the floor of a moat between the 5th and 8th centuries AD. We found Trichuris trichiura eggs only in that mud-soil layer, whereas no parasite eggs were identified in the other archaeological strata of the ruins. As T. trichiura eggs are shed only in human feces, we speculated that palace toilet contents were continually drained into the moat; therefore, at a certain point in time after construction, the moat finally became a ditch around the palace. Structures in the stone embankments of the moat, possibly designed to make the water flow continuously in one direction, might reflect the Silla people's efforts to alleviate the ever-increasing problems inherent in a moat.

古人历来喜饮温酒。温酒器是中国酒器系列中的重要一项。早在商周青铜文化中就已出现,并延续了数千年之久。本文介绍了咸阳博物馆珍藏一件设计合理,构架独特的铜温酒炉,并结合已出土的有关温酒炉,从铸造工艺、造型、形制特征、艺术风格等进行研究探讨,推断此器为汉代铜温酒炉。     

对旅游本质的哲学辨析

对旅游本质的正确认识是关系到旅游学科建设和旅游业健康发展的重要命题,然而这一问题在学术界至今未能得到很好解决。从哲学的视角来辨析,旅游的本质应是“体验”,即旅游者的异地身心自由体验。将体验视为旅游本质的理由是：体验是旅游现象所具有的最一般、最普遍、最稳定的共同属性,体验是旅游现象区别于其他现象的独特属性,体验是规定和影响旅游现象中其他非本质属性的根本,体验是旅游活动产生、变化及发展的依据,这些理由符合哲学关于本质研究的特点及规定性。     

中共建党与近代上海社会

1921年7月,中共一大在上海召开。作为工业化、现代化和国际化都市的上海,为中共成立提供了最适宜的地理环境。以上海工人为主体的中国工人阶级的壮大和阶级觉悟的提高,为共产党的创建奠定阶级基础。上海发达的媒介网络为马克思主义的早期传播提供便利条件。伴随新文化运动的勃兴,上海成为先进知识分子的集聚与活动中心。以陈独秀为核心的《新青年》编辑部和马克思主义研究会则为中共上海发起组提供基本成员,上海发起组实际担当了组建中共的临时中央。中共在上海的成立是上海近代化的结果。共产党的成立及其初期的活动,构成上海近代史的华章。     

Testing the standardized growth curve (SGC) to OSL dating coastal sediments from the south Bohai Sea, China

It has been suggested that the standardized growth curve (SGC) method can be used to accurately determinate equivalent dose (D_e) and reduce measurement time. However, different opinions regarding the applicability of the SGC method exist. In this paper, we evaluated quartz OSL SGCs of marine and coastal sediments of different grain sizes and different cores in the south Bohai Sea in China, and tested their applicability to the determination of D_e values. Our results suggested as follows: (1) The SGC method is applicable to both multiple- and single-aliquot regenerative-dose (MAR and SAR) protocols of OSL dating and efficiently provides reliable estimates of D_e. (2) Finesand quartz of different palaeodoses showed highly similar dose-response curves and an SGC was developed, but old samples using the SGC method have large uncertainties. (3) For coarse-silt quartz, two different types of dose-response curves were recorded: low-dose (≤60Gy) and high-dose (≥100Gy). The growth curves of low-dose quartz were similar to each other, facilitating the use of SGC in D_e estimations, but errors tended to be larger than those obtained in the SAR method. For high-dose (100–300Gy) quartz, the SGC was also found to be reliable, but there was large uncertainty in D_e (>300Gy) estimation. We suggest that SGC could be employed for the dating of marine and coastal sediments dating using either MAR or SAR OSL protocol and either fine-silt, coarse-silt or fine-sand quartz.     

土默特平原聚落分布形态演变及其驱动因素分析(1934—2019)

选取土默特平原1934、1982和2019年的聚落人口数据,运用GIS空间分析法,定性与定量结合分析研究区聚落分布形态演变及其驱动因素,结果表明,1934—2019年土默特平原以小聚落为主,大规模聚落数量和比例逐年增加,人口等级结构由“扁平”向“长高”金字塔形转变。聚落空间分布整体呈现集聚分布特征,大规模聚落集聚性不显著,其他规模的聚落分布模式由随机向集聚转变,研究区人口极化现象显著;聚落空间分布非均衡发展趋势明显,呈现由极核式向点轴式演变的迹象;聚落网络联系的空间近邻效应显著,人口规模较大的中心城区成为强联系节点。地形、河流、交通是研究区聚落分布形态演变的主要驱动因素,聚落低海拔、邻河流、邻干道、邻城镇的指向性强。该研究便于厘清土默特平原近百年聚落分布形态的演变脉络,为当地聚落的空间布局优化与调控提供一定参考价值。     

张居正当国时期的中央财政制度改革——以太仓库为核心

本文以太仓库为切入点,指出张居正时代的中央财政制度改革是在屯田、盐法开中、民运等原有财政体系日渐无法满足北边军镇基本常规需求的情况下,在嘉靖、隆庆以来持续改革的基础上,为改变太仓库长期入不敷出的局面而进行的努力。这次改革在财政方面展现出强烈的中央集权化倾向,但其间太仓库收支渐增的趋势仍在,收不抵支的隐患仍存,北边军镇屯田等原有财政供应体系日渐失效的基本问题未能解决。张居正死后,太仓库财政状况迅速恶化。因此,张居正时期的改革仅仅是推延了明王朝财政崩溃的时间而已。     

大光明电影院与近代上海社会文化

创建于1928年的上海大光明电影院,以好莱坞电影和西方现代主义的建筑装饰,迎合并引领上海民众推崇西方娱乐方式和文化,带动电影院成为近代上海摩登生活的文化地标。以大光明为代表的电影院,并非仅仅彰显娱乐功能。事实上,近代电影院显示出超越电影放映场所的多元功能。作为 "影片—影院—社会"这一信息传播链的中间环节,大光明电影院通过对好莱坞文化的传播刺激着上海社会对好莱坞元素的消费和再生产;同时,近代上海社会的民族主义、族群意识甚至政治风云也影响人们对电影的评价和对影院空间的态度。     

Political Science in Mexico: Cold War and Post-Cold War Context

Abstract

Through a critical consideration of recent proposals urging the use of “citizen forums” or “mini-publics” on issues involving science, this article reflects on the challenge posed to democracy and democratic decision making by the intellectual authority of modern science. Though the danger of a descent into technocracy is real and pressing, arguably the most serious challenge to democracy today, these novel “deliberative democratic” institutions are unpromising as a corrective beyond the local level, and may actually exacerbate the problem. The article concludes with a consideration of alternatives.
