Reconnaissance Report on Damage of Bridges in 2008 Wenchuan,China, Earthquake

This is a reconnaissance report on the damage to bridges during the 2008 Wenchuan, China, earthquake. Site investigation was conducted by the authors on August 10–14, 2008. Presented is a detailed discussion of the damage to 12 bridges as well as possible damage mechanisms. Characteristics of two near-field ground accelerations and Chinese seismic bridge design practices are also presented. An investigation of the damage finds insufficient intensity of seismic design force, inadequate structural detailing for enhancing the ductility capacity, and an absence of unseating prevention devices.     

历史与现实

历史与现实只是两个词,而不是两回事。语言把本体弄成两半,同时又遮蔽了另一半。这样,一半是语言性的“历史”和“现实”,一半是事实性的历史与现实。“历史即现实”这个新历史观的命题在最抽象的意义上,它是最具体的,同时,在最具体的意义上,它又是最抽象的。本质上,历史首先是一种深度的存在。只有在历史的无限深度之下,才有永恒的意义。历史是距离人们最远而又最近的东西。但人们只知道“最远”而不知道“最近”,所以,人们的历史观就大成问题。     

Development and Seismic Behavior of Precast Concrete Beam-to-Column Connections

A new precast concrete beam-to-column connection for moment-resisting frames was developed in this study. Both longitudinal bar anchoring and lap splicing were used to achieve beam reinforcement continuity. Three full-scale beam-to-column connections, including a reference monolithic specimen, were investigated under reversal cyclic loading. The difference between the two precast specimens was the consideration of additional lap-splicing bars in the calculation of moment-resisting strength. Seismic performance was evaluated based on hysteretic behavior, strength, ductility, stiffness, and energy dissipation. The plastic hinge length of the specimens is also discussed. The results show that the proposed precast system performs satisfactorily under reversal cyclic loading compared with the monolithic specimen, and the additional lap-splicing bars can be included in the strength calculation using the plane cross-section assumption. Furthermore, the plastic hinge length of the proposed precast beam-to-column connection can be estimated using the models for monolithic specimens.     

THE URBAN ENTERPRISE ZONE*

ABSTRACT This paper provides an analytical framework of urban enterprise zones in a context of regional development. The direct and indirect impacts of urban enterprise zones on regional economies such as job creation, urban unemployment, agricultural wage and changes in the regional economic structure are analyzed by incorporating the intermediate goods sector. The study suggests that the establishment of urban enterprise zones is a beneficial and effective policy instrument which can be used in promoting urban renewal and regional economic growth.

吴昌硕（1844-1927年）是中国近代史上一座可望而不可及的高峰,领军海上画派,以诗、书、画、印四绝合一的整体艺术成就而驰誉。其出于浙江安吉,初名俊,又名俊卿,字昌硕,又署仓石、苍石、仓硕,别号缶庐、苦铁、大聋、老仓、老缶等,1912年后以字行。他一生勤于笔耕,又喜交游,经常诗酒唱和,书画往来,留下不少遗墨,     

高原地区博物馆经书柜内环境参数稳定性分析

高原地区寒冷干燥,昼夜温差大,日照强,为了研究高原博物馆环境参数的变化情况,对拉萨市某博物馆库房经书柜内外进行为期10个月的温湿度、CO₂浓度、VOC浓度、光照强度和紫外线强度监测,分析了环境参数的变化规律、特征和影响因素。结果表明:柜内温湿度随柜外温湿度季节性变化而变化,柜内温湿度日变化小,温湿度平均日较差分别为0.73℃和0.83%,柜外为1.6℃和4.25%,经书柜可以有效保护古籍文物不受柜外环境温湿度日波动的干扰;柜内外温湿度日较差与季节无显著的相关关系,该博物馆建筑围护结构隔热性能较好;温度日较差与CO₂浓度日较差呈显著的正相关关系,即库房内工作人员越多,温度日较差越大;柜内VOC容易富集,浓度更高,建议放置活性炭等吸附材料;光照和紫外线强度极低,当前经书柜整体有利于保存。     

东突厥阿史那摸末墓志考述

本通过对阿史那王族成员郁射设阿史那摸末墓志的考述,分析了其家族世系中五代人的王位沿袭和兴衰演变,从中不仅可看到东突厥与隋唐王朝的密切关系,也可清楚他们降唐后的具体安置,有助于我们更全面地认识隋唐时期东亚地区各民族的历史作用以及中国北方政治、军事格局的变化。     

论史料

史料是一种语言,对史料性质的分析本质上是一种“元分析”。只有在史料系统内部,史料才具有客观性。史料的客观性是一种语言的客观性。历史研究的客观性就是运用史料的规范性,即语言游戏的规则性。史料与历史的关系是一种假关系。史料不能直接产生理论,但可以充分限制理论;史料虽不能肯定什么理论是好的,但可以肯定什么理论是不好的。

《江上诗钞》一百七十五卷,《江上诗钞补》十一卷,清咸丰间江阴顾季慈辑,民国初江阴谢鼎镕补辑,民国二十至二十二年(1931-1933)江阴陶社木活字印本.十一行二十二字,白口四周单边单黑鱼尾,版匡18.5×13厘米.     

Costume,Ceremonial, and the East Asian Order: What the Annamese King Wore When Congratulating the Emperor Qianlong in Jehol in 1790

Emperor Qianlong of the Qing dynasty celebrated his eightieth birthday in 1790, for which Vietnam, Korea, the Ryūkyū Islands, Burma, and Mongolia sent delegates to the imperial summer resort at Chengde 承德 to pay homage. Curiously, the Annamese (or, Vietnamese) king NguyễnQuangBình (阮 光平), who had just defeated the Qing army, offered to appear in Qing costume and kowtow to the Qing emperor. The unusual act pleased Emperor Qianlong and infuriated the Korean delegates. What did costume and ceremonial mean in the context of the East Asian political and cultural order? Why did the British embassy to China led by Lord Macartney three years later cause friction with regards to sartorial and ceremonial manners? This lecture will address these questions.
