Equid remains are scarce and very fragmented in Iberian Neolithic and Bronze Age sites. Evidence suggesting that horses were domesticated does exist, but it is often inconclusive, thus leaving the question unanswered. Today, DNA analyses have provided information about a, most likely Iberian, nucleus of horse domestication, making it crucially important to expand the database. The Holocene sequence (6th and 3rd millennium cal bc ) of the Cueva de El Mirador (Sierra de Atapuerca, Spain) has yielded 92 equid remains distributed in 12 Neolithic and Bronze Age levels. In this paper, we present the study of the equid remains from the Cueva de El Mirador from an archaeozoological perspective, giving indirect evidence of horse domestication. Our results vary widely and lead to open interpretations about horse domestication and how humans used these animals. 2002年8月河北省文物研究所在涿州市清理了一座元代壁画墓,该墓将孝义故事图浓缩于一壁,其中西南壁绘12组,东南壁绘8组。壁画由于受画面的限制,故事内容表现简略,多具象征意义,除部分内容清晰,为人共知外,多有难于辨别者。本文参考已有的研究成果,并结合文献对该壁画孝义故事进行了逐一考证。  相似文献

In 1949 the Swiss government convened a diplomatic conference to update international humanitarian law in the light of the tragic experiences of the Second World War. Although the proceedings were largely dominated by the fear that the coup in Prague, the blockade of Berlin and the Chinese civil war would lead to a third world war, the conference succeeded in adopting the four Geneva Conventions that are still in force today. This was a major breakthrough from a humanitarian point of view as well as a significant political success. However, in the 50 years that followed, the new Conventions were applied to circumstances that differed widely from those that their framers had in mind. Since the threat of nuclear annihilation prevented any direct and open confrontation between the superpowers, their rivalry led instead to a proliferation of internal conflicts along the fault‐lines of the Cold War. What then was the significance of the new Geneva Conventions? What are the prospects for the future of international humanitarian law? These are some of the questions that deserve our attention as the twentieth century—scarred as it was by so many wars—givesway to the twenty‐first.  相似文献

本文对虞弘墓图像中一幅学界一直认为是“夫妇宴饮图”的图像进行了辨析正名。作者列举了多件以“夫妇宴饮图”为主题的图像与虞弘墓这幅图像进行比对,通过男、女主人的排位原则考辨出虞墓图像的女主角不是虞弘夫人,又从其冠服特征、手持之物以及身旁二女伴的身份考定出她是一位天界神灵,即Daena女神。作者又进而指出,此幅图像的主题是表现墓主人灵魂进入天国后的美好情景。  相似文献

Abstract

It is often suggested that only a fairly small percentage of the buried population was commemorated on stones before the 19th century. However, there has been little empirical study of what proportion is represented on monuments for different periods. This work compares the number of individuals whose names appear on surviving monuments in historical burial grounds, and the number of individuals recorded in parish records. Although there was considerable variation between graveyards, the mean proportion of those registered as having been buried and who were also commemorated was 8·23%, the figure being much higher in rural areas and much lower in urban ones.  相似文献
