<正>Tibet Autonomous Region is a place of spectacular scenic beauty.I have had the privilege of visiting it four times.In addition,I have visited quite a few Tibetan areas outside Tibet,including in Qinghai,Sichuan,Gansu,and Yunnan.My visits to the Tibetan areas of China span the years 1985 to 2011.

In Tibetan areas, prior to the Democratic Reform （1959-1960）, there were over 2,700 monasteries, and the population of monks and nuns totaled about 110,000, accounting for 10 percent of the total Tibetan population （1.2 million）.

In 2002 a special class was established in Minzu University of China. It recruited non-Tibetan high school graduates from the hinterland. After graduation, the students would work on some basic tasks below county level in Tibet Autonomous Region to serve local economic and social development. Upon graduation, these young men were to be sent to places, which were completely unfamiliar to them. How would they face difficulties in work and life？ Could they stick to their tasks？     

THE DEVELOPMENT OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS IN TIBET

In the past, a letter sent from Tibet to inland China often took almost half a year to arrive. In Tibet, people had to walk a long way, and then waited in a long queue for access to a fixed phone. Because of the poor state of telecommunications in Tibet in those early days, people in Tibet heard and saw little of the wonderful world outside. This in turn created an even greater apparent distance between Tibet and that outside world.

REMINISCENCE THE EARLY YEARS OF WORKING IN TIBET

In the late Sixties,a group of enthusiastic youths from Henan(an internal province on the central plain) set out with great enthusiasm to go farming and also guard borders on the Tibet Plateau.I was lucky enough to be one of them.Now,as I recall those long and dusty days in an area largely unknown to the rest of the world,I cannot help about of nostalgia.

国外人文地理学著作和教材在我国的翻译出版主要是1990年代以来的事,商务印书馆作为出版大户在改革开放之初就出版了大规模的世界区域地理译著,其后所译著作多为受到好评的欧美论著或教材,但与原版书出版的时滞较长。相关译作缺乏规划、质量参差不齐、对教科书重视不够、学科分布不均衡等成为主要问题。加强有关译作的规划、提升翻译作品在学术评价中的地位、加强翻译队伍建设、重视教材的翻译和引进、加强薄弱学科著作和教材的引进和翻译等是今后发展的主要建议。

1980年代中期以来上海市住区区位衍化的特征

对住房建设市场化以来城市住区区位衍化特征的了解和认识,将有助于有关部门科学地编制和实施城市规划。利用上海市1980年代中期以来开发的住区项目的空间区位数据,分析了其住区区位衍化的特征。分析结果显示,上海市1980年代中期以来住区区位衍化特征大致可总结为7个特征,即集聚与扩散趋势并存,居住空间重构与分异并存,热点开发区位的变化和延续同时存在,中心城区住区再开发和郊区住区新开发同时繁荣,住区区位"沿边"聚集,住区沿交通指向发展,从"地段"到"板块"的跃升和优化。

我国历史文化村镇保护的内容与方法研究

历史化村镇是我国遗产保护体系的重要组成部分,随着第一批中国历史化名镇(村)的命名公布。遗产保护工作又进入了一个崭新阶段。我国历史化村镇保护研究较国外起步较晚,相关研究也欠深入全面。导致在当前城镇化快速发展过程中,一些颇具价值特色的古村镇没有得到很好保护。本首先回顾了国内外历史小城镇、村落保护的演变发展,然后指出历史化村镇保护在价值特性方面,不同于历史化名城;在保护内容方面,要在以往偏重于物质化遗产保护的基础上。进一步加重非物质化遗产的保护;在保护方法方面,要综合运用历史学、地理学、建筑学、社会学、景观生态学等方法,才能达到较好的保护效果。
