New Year in Tibetan calendar is a traditional grand festival for Tibetans. This year, the Wood-horseTibetan New Year of the 17th Rabjung, is on March 2nd, 2014. Traditionally, when it is Decemberaccording to the Tibetan calendar, Tibetans start to prepare for their big festival. Of course, one of themost important things to do is New Year＇s shopping. 西藏画卷安多强巴的故事

我们家佛堂的正中高悬着一幅金碧辉煌的唐卡,端坐于莲花宝座之上的是四臂观音.菩萨低眉垂目,环绕着真金勾勒的背光,四周遍布奇花异木,珍禽异兽,雪山草地,祥云流瀑.这尊菩萨面容和身躯是以写实的手法描绘的,同时又与背景中传统的平面装饰风格有机地融为一体.画面的左下方盖着一枚藏汉两种文字的朱印"安多强巴".其实明眼人不必看印章便知,只有安多强巴才有这样的风格.

At present, Tibetan farmers and herdsmen can increase their incomes through non- agricultural industries. The economic development in the cities and towns offers a lot of opportunities for rural migrant workers in Tibet. Working in towns has become an importantmeans for the Tibetan rural labor force to boost their incomes. With the advantages of possessing many trades, low employment requirement and high flexibility, in some larger Tibetan cities like Lhasa and Shigatse, tertiary industry has accepted more and more people from the countryside and thus has become the major channel to employment for rural migrant workers. Thereby the catering industry has become the first area to be chosen by many Tibetan rural workers who go to town for the first time.
