WHO TALKS TO WHOM: ÉLITENESS AMONG THE WORLD'S NATIONS

International standing is always relative. To T.A. Mits in Toronto, New York, or Moscow it's the clan in Parliament, the White House, or the Kremlin who are the aristocracy. And it is the study of who talks to whom among the world's nations that provides insights into which countries constitute the nobility of the international power structure. Those nations making critical decisions in the political arena and directing the course of history are those who are 'more equal than others' at the United Nations or Geneva peace talks.

在百年之际,千年之交的时候,回顾我国的钱币事业,确实令人鼓舞。过去的一百年,我国的货币,由传统的方孔铜钱,历经几次大的变革,完成了几个大的飞跃,迎来了电子货币的曙光;以钱币实物为研究对象的钱币学,从只是少数人问津的传统的古钱     

ON THE ROAD TO PARADIS: NEW INSIGHTS FROM AMS DATES AND STABLE ISOTOPES AT LE DÉHUS,GUERNSEY, AND THE CHANNEL ISLANDS MIDDLE NEOLITHIC

We here report the results of a programme of AMS dating and stable isotope analysis on human remains from the chambered tomb of Le Déhus, Guernsey. An early use‐phase in the range 4100–3900 BC is indicated, confirming the monument's attribution to the Middle Neolithic II as defined in western France. Late Neolithic burial activity is also identified. Stable carbon isotope measurements provide little or no evidence for the consumption of marine foods, although stable nitrogen isotope values are unusually high. These results are situated in the wider context of Neolithic mortuary monuments of the Channel Islands and Normandy.
