In the change of season from spring to summer in 2008, our research team revisited Lhundrup Tsomo's family. She was worried and askedus about the health situation of the village administrator's wife who was ill, and the village administrator had already taken her to see doctors. With her perseverance, we had to inform her that the wife of the village administrator Tashi Dampa was suffering from breast cancer and she was undergoing chemical therapy in the People's Hospital i,n Lhasa and surgery might soon take place. On hearing that, Lhundrup Tsomo immediately became sad and she told us stories about how sucha situation developed in Tashi Dampa's family during recent years. Since the village administrator devoted his time and efforts to take care of the village and his fellow villagers, he did less for his family but rather left it all to his wife, which led to her final tragedy.  相似文献

Big Ears
Shortly after we arrived in the village, a black dog with big, erect ears appeared. This dog lying by the roadsidestartled us because her huge ears made her look more like a wolf or a fox than a dog. Later, she would often wander about in front of the village committee. My fellow team members would give her something to eat. She came to know us better and gradually became a regular visitor to the village committee.  相似文献

Located on Dongshan Island, off the coast of Fujian province,is a typical rural village called Tongbo. On May 10,1950,147 men were abducted by the KMT army on its way to Taiwan.Since a majority of the men were already married, overnight, their wives became "widows," and most would remain so for the rest of their lives.Consequently,Tongbo village became more widely known as Widow Village. The first objective of this paper is to document the tragic experiences of men and women in Tongbo village, focusing on these forced separations in 1950,the possibility of reunion after 1987,and the struggle to cope with the difficulties in between. The second objective of this paper is to argue that while heartbreaking, the experiences of this village are not extraordinary in the context of the Chinese Civil War.What made the men and women in Tongbo extraordinary is not their collective suffering, but how these villagers suffered less, not more, than in many other places, because of the actions of three key figures.  相似文献

During my interview with Zholma Party Secretary of the Xigaze Prefecture Communications Bureau, she told me the following interesting story: My mother is 85 this year. She has three children who are all road maintenance workers. In 1952, mother took a younger sister from Lhasa to Nyingchi, where she met the PLA and joined a road construction team. The road was being built to Lhasa and then to Xigaze.  相似文献

Kunsang Yangzom burst into tears. If the Beijing medical team, aiming to complete a medical survey and treatment, did not drive 220-odd kilometers from Lhasa to Nakartse County in Lhoka Prefecture, the l 1-year-old little girl would never have known she had a congenital heart disease. If she had missed this opportunity to get treatment, in the coming some days her life would be at risk due to heart failure which might be caused by pulmonary hypertension and endocarditis.  相似文献

正I would often read stories online about the strenuous efforts made by Degyi Wangmo in her entrepreneurial career as she founded her Gongdro Demo Farmstead in Sosong Village of Menling County of the Tibet Autonomous Region.Later,in June of 2020,I just so happened to get a chance to visit the village for myself.A group of us,over 20 people, took a bus, setting off from downtown Nyingchi, and something like two hours later,we arrived at Tunbai Village in Pai Township.  相似文献

The earliest written record of the term “Kaxabu” dates to the 1908 survey report by the Japanese scholar Ino Kanori. In his study of the Pazzehe tribe in central Taiwan, he wrote: “Kaxabu was the name given by the Pazzehe to Daiyao'puru, a small division of its ethnic group.” During the Qing era, the Pazzehe was called the Anli group by Chinese speakers in Taiwan, while the Kaxabu were named Puzili she (the Puzili tribe). Since the Kaxabu originated from the Pazzehe, thus in determining the time when the Kaxabu became distinct from the Pazzehe and in exploring the differences between them, we will also elucidate historical developments before the Japanese colonial era. Using Qing historical materials such as travelogues, expedition-records, newspapers, data from fieldwork, surveys, and interviews, this study traces the intervention of the Qing court into tribal relationships in central Taiwan, beginning with the Dajiaxi she Incident (1731-32), it touches on the changing environment of the Kaxabu/ Puzili she in their migrations in order to shed light on the development of the two distinctive identities-the Kaxabu and Pazzehe/Anli group. The analysis also reveals the impact of uprisings and migrations upon the border area surrounding Qing Taiwan, as well as problems of ethnic identification and geography.  相似文献

正I was assigned to my second village at the end of January 2020.Compared to the one in Lhoka where I worked a whole year in 2015,this village in the western part of Nagqu impressed upon me more.Born and raised in Lhasa,I seldom had contact with any nomads or had anything to do with nomadic areas, though I did have a few friends from Nagqu who worked in Lhasa and knew very well of yak meat, butter, and cheese.  相似文献

A dozen km west of Lhasa there lies a small village called Sangmo No.5 in Donggar Town. Sitting by the Lhasa River, it is screened on three sides by woods. With visitors to Tibet increasing in number with each passing day, the village turned to tourism, attracting visitors with singing and dancing. The Tibetans are a race good at singing and dancing. Rural folk villages have sprung up in the last few years but Sangmo is obviously is different from others. Its villagers created their own singing and dancing items.  相似文献

Home Visits
Once the work team had settled in, we started visiting the villagers in their homes to get the lay of the land. There are four unincorporated villages in Yerpa: Gogo and Yulo are downstream on the east bank of Nujiang River; Sengo, the one in the middle, is the seat of the village committee, and Dangran Village, a hour's walk from Sengo (upstream and to the west) is the smallest and most remote. Accordingto old statistics, there was a population of 489 in the 78 households in Yerpa Village. That made it a relatively big administrative village. It is also typical of the eastern river valley region of Tibet, with features such as deep valleys, steep mountains, a widely dispersed population over a wide area, the shortage of arable land, a dry climate and lack of transport facilities. Currently a road runs past the village but there is still no electricity, telecommunications, schools, medical services.., or safe drinking water. In the past people had to use a cable slide to cross the Nujiang River and then walk another 10 kilometers to get to Junyong Village in Dombang Township of Dzogong County. In order to continue on to the county seat of Dzogong there was another steep mountain to climb. On looking up from Yerpa Village, the highway was like a thread hanging from the clouds. The villagers used to climb Khekela on the other side of Nujiang River to reach Temtok Town of Dzogong County. Our legs almost gave way just from looking at that narrow trail. But the villagers had to rely on it to go to the nearest town for selling produce and shopping. Sometimes they would return on the same day. Our visit started from the village of Dangran. Since it was farthest from where we were, we decided to tackle the hard stuff first. Dangran Village had sent several horses and mules to us so we could use them to carry our gifts, plus a bottle of cooking oil bought in the county seat, for each family. On the gravel road that doubled as a water channel, the horses were fine but the mules liked to head for the thorn bushes by the roadside.  相似文献
