《古汉语常用字字典》（修订版）引文勘误

商务印书馆出版的《古汉语常用字字典》(修订版)是一部曾获中国辞书奖一等奖而流布极广的字典,但其中却有不少失误。本对其引失误作了勘正。     

一个正在形成的考古学分支——读《杨鸿勋建筑考古学论文集(增订版)》

《杨鸿勋建筑考古学论文集(增订版)》已由清华大学出版社出版发行。该书是杨鸿勋先生数十年来致力于建筑考古学研究的总结,对建筑考古学学科的发展具有重要意义。     

Linguistic Imperialism and Minoan Archaeology (Greece)

This contribution to the debate about Anglo- and non-Anglo archaeologies briefly describes the issue from the point of view of Minoan Archaeology (Crete, Greece). The authors seek to problematise (English) language use within this discipline and highlight the complexity of archaeological discourses.

Résumé Cette contribution au débat entre archéologues anglophones et archéologues non-anglophones présente brièvement la question du point de vue de l’archéologie minoenne (Crète, Grèce). Les auteurs cherchent à problématiser l’utilisation de la langue (anglaise) dans le cadre de la discipline et à souligner la complexité du discourt archéologique.

     

Byzantium in Dark-Age Greece (the numismatic evidence in its Balkan context)

Abstract

Much has been made of the presence or absence of seventh- and eighth-century coins on several sites in Greece, primarily in Athens and Corinth. Kenneth Sefton and Peter Charanis have paved the way for a cultural-historical interpretation of coin finds, but a thorough comparison of both single and hoard finds from Greece with others from the Balkans suggests a very different interpretation. Instead of signalising decline, low-denomination coins, especially from Athens, may point to local markets of low-value commodities, such as food, as well as to the permanent presence of the fleet.

北平图书馆旧藏正德《崇明县重修志》,旧有正德八年刻本、正德九年刻本诸说,都是不正确的。该书当修于正德十六年(1521年),其后不久即付梓刻印。     

Warfare and State Formation in Hawaii

Between 1782 and 1812, Kamehameha I conquered and unified the Hawaiian Islands. This process was unprecedented in Hawaii and coincided with increasing European contact, prompting many to attribute his success to European weapons and ideas. Those studying chiefly power in pre-unification Hawaii emphasise economic and ideological factors and fail to examine coercive capabilities in any detail, as well as the specifics of time and place. The approaches of other disciplines offer new perspectives. European military historians' emphasis on the importance of logistical, organisational and psychological factors calls for a re-evaluation of the significance of European weaponry and mercenaries in Kamehameha's wars of unification. He gained victory because his opponents overextended themselves logistically, and were weakened by internal divisions at crucial times. Military victory alone was not enough to secure power. Kamehameha also mastered the art of building and maintaining coalitions. Demilitarisation of the islands was central to the unification process.

无上经典 传世瑰宝 《清敕修大藏经》的传承、保护与重刊

今年9月,由北京市文物局主持启动的《清敕修大藏经》经板保护及经书重新刷印出版工程,在全国政协礼堂举办了隆重的重刊经书首发式。《清敕修大藏经》保护项目工程浩大,史无前例。此项目得以实施,充分说明了党和政府对文物保护事业,对宗教文化的发展,对历史文献保护利用的高度重视与关怀;也充分体现了国家强大、社会和谐的盛世形象,正可谓＂盛世修典＂。现借《清敕修大藏经》重刊之机,将该藏经的相关情况介绍如下,以飨读者。
