肖像画与相术

本文探讨中国肖像画在造型技术上从易到难,有一个由侧面到斜侧面最后才到正面的发展过程。在解决正面肖像的描绘难题时,曾经借助过相术,即以汉字造型特点对人物面部形象的归类方法和观察方法,从而促进了肖像画的进一步发展。     

岩溶地貌与宜兴相关历史文化的生成--对一个地域人地关系的文本解析

特定的地理环境会使一地的民众产生与之相适应的生产方式和生活方式,进而表现为该地特有的化性质和地方性格。地域化之间的差异一定程度上是自然差异在人地关系中的衍生,或说是化形态差异的表现。以江苏宜兴为例,该地具有重要影响的一些历史化(如道教信仰、国山封禅以及梁祝化的形成)就与该地的喀斯特地貌环境有着密切的关系。     

Haunting Language-Game: Baudrillardian Metamorphoses in Sadeq Hedayat's The Blind Owl

As an acclaimed work of twentieth-century Persian fiction, Sadeq Hedayat's The Blind Owl has stirred much scholarly contemplation. Identical characters obscure the work; the resemblance amongst them seemingly originates in some mysterious old man. The paper first demonstrates how every male character resembles this old man. Thereafter, he is argued to be non-existent; all the characters, therefore, become Baudrillardian simulacra bound together through family resemblances. A language-game is then fashioned to represent the family. The metamorphosis of the narrator is followed to manifest how this language-game haunts the characters—other language-games. The paper hopefully sheds some light on an ambiguous aspect of the work and provides a model as to how one language-game takes over another.

Metamorphoses of the early medieval signum of a ruler in the Carolingian world

This article uses the approach of diplomatic semiotics to explore early medieval signs of authority in charters and on coins, especially the monogram and the sign of the cross used as an individual ‘signature’. Coins and charters used these signs communicating royal or imperial authority differently, addressing diverse regional and social audiences. From the fifth through the ninth centuries, the early medieval signum of a ruler gradually transformed from the individualizing sign of a particular monarch, designed to differentiate him symbolically from other rulers, to the generalizing sign of the king by the grace of God, which as a visual attribute of authority could be shared by several rulers. This transformation signified the inauguration of a new ‘medieval’ tradition in the communication of authority in late Carolingian times.     

许负《相书》的作者与源流

敦煌保存的5个卷号的许负《相书》写本,是目前所知时代最早的古代相书残卷。本文逐一考察了书中所列的13位作者,指出其伪托的性质;并依据史志书目的著录,对该相书从唐前直至宋元的发展源流进行了梳理。     

敦煌写本相书理论与敦煌石窟供养人画像——关于敦煌莫高窟供养人画像研究之二

汉唐敦煌地区是一个多民族居住区,除了汉族之外,还生活有粟特人、吐谷浑人、南山人、吐蕃人、龙家人、达怛人、回鹘人以及少量的西域其他居民,很多民族都有明显的面貌特征,其中粟特、吐谷浑、吐蕃、回鹘等都在敦煌石窟绘制有供养人像,这些供养人像共性特征突出,个性特征减弱乃至于消失,具有明显的千人一面的倾向,经过我们研究,主要受敦煌地区审美观即敦煌写本相书好相理论的影响。     

论敦煌相书中的阴阳五行观念

阴阳五行学说作为古代认识天地自然与社会人生的基本观念,是传统相术解释人生命运的根本原则。在敦煌相书中,阴阳五行观念的影响以一种质拙朴素的形式散在于相书对具体形貌与命禄的解说中。本文分析了阴阳五行观念在敦煌相书中的具体表现和特点,并联系传世相书,讨论了唐代阴阳五行观念与相术结合的状况。     

敦煌所出相痣图CH.00209、S.5976校理释录

敦煌写本相书中所保存下来的相痣图残本CH00209与S．5976是有关唐代相术的重要材料。本在对这两件相图残片进行拼合、定名的基础上,逐个校理释录了图中标注的占辞解说,并与传世相书中的有关内容进行了比较,基本弄清了它的原貌。     

Advances in Morphometrics in Archaeobotany

ABSTRACT

Morphometric analysis offers an alternative or augmentation to traditional archaeobotanical methods to address differences within and between plant species and their remains, refining and enhancing taxonomic resolution. Morphometrics, the measurement of size and shape, and the multivariate statistical analysis of generated quantitative variables, have long played a major role in biological research, including plant taxonomy and systematics, although its application in archaeobotany is relatively recent. Over the last few decades, there has been an increasing interest in the use of morphometrics for analysing a varied range of archaeological plant materials (mainly seeds, pollen, phytoliths, and starch grains). In particular, morphometrics have contributed to the study of the domestication and spread of many cereals world-wide, as well as that of other taxa including legumes, underground storage organs (USO), and fruits (such as olives, grapes, and dates). This paper reviews current methodologies, recent applications, and advances in the use of morphometrics in archaeobotanical research, discusses its role in exploring major research questions, and suggests possible future directions for its use.
