每年我们都要收到许多读者的来信,这些信有真诚的赞扬,有善意的批评,有杂志读后的感言,有种种改进刊物的建议。有的读者来信咨询各种各样的有关西藏的问题,还有的请求本刊代为联系图书出版和经济交流渠道等。这些信对于我们来说,比金子还要珍贵。在此我们选登几封有代表性的来信,以示我们对读者关爱的感谢。

40年,不容易从中美签署望厦条约丌始,这两个国家,就这样结下不解之缘。40年时,也是早春二月,尼克松的破冰之旅,似乎终结丁近三十年的恩怨情仉,历史因此改变而难忘。过去的40年,中美关系有过近似蜜月期的互动,也有上世纪80年代术跌入谷底的冰点。但中国的改革开放,却是以邓小平访美为一个新的历史起点,从那之后,中国对外开放的大门再也没有关上。中美毕竟是两个意识形态、政治制度截然不同的国度,40年之后,仍难以找到准确的战略定位。关系时好时坏,

2007年9月号 到处都在“鬼吹灯“的时候,《盗墓》引起的反响完全在我们预料之内,但让一位”物件儿”的收藏者产生触动与感慨并反馈给我们,却令我们有点意外。这是一封没有署名的邮件,进一步沟通之后,这位读者留下了落款．但显然是一个化名。每次在制作类似非常规的选题时,我们都会担心读者的反应,与之无关的读者会喜欢吗？

最是难得"两头真"将杜导正这位88岁的老共产党员,作为封面人物,有何不可?!这群老人,敢将一腔热血写出"炎黄春秋",殊为不易,但最是难得的还是他们这一代人的"两头真"。最初那一头,全情投入,义无反顾,但到晚年把一切看明白后,对体制多了一份忧心,愿意大声说个话提个醒。

我们愧对孩子不能不夸一下本期封面年度人物的设计与创意。2011年围绕中国孩子的新闻实在太多,多到我们无法承载,也无法和孩子们那一双双天真无邪、充满期待的眼睛对视。孩子是明天,是未来的希望,这是反复数十年耳熟能详的话语,这话语任何时候都不会过时。但我们对孩子们,尤其是农村里的孩子们,说得太多,做得太少;
