谈晚会导演的策划能力

导演在艺术上有独到的审美视角,善于艺术想象,同时导演也是一个好的组织者,导演需发挥创造性思维,做好“导演阐述”工作,导演是晚会的总设计师、总指挥。晚会的策划操作力是衡量晚会导演成熟度的尺码,策划操作力的强弱会直接反应在作品中。一台晚会就是导演的一部作品,从策划到呈现,处处都体现着导演的智慧。     

Tides in the middle atmosphere

Some recent progress in the study of tides in the middle atmosphere are reviewed, with special emphasis placed on radar observations at high latitudes, as well as data analysis methods used in the calculation of tidal structures. Observations carried out outside the meteor zone with MST radars and satellites are also presented. Theoretical and numerical advances on the diurnal tide are extensively discussed. Finally, some outstanding problems, which we hope will be solved in the near future are raised: the existence of hemispheric asymmetries in tidal structure; the role played by non-migrating modes at meteor heights and short time scales variations of tides.     

The New York and the Josephine: two steamships of the Charles Morgan Line

Charles Morgan (1795 to 1882) was one of the most important figures in the development of steam packet service in the United States. Morgan's career spanned over a half century, during which he controlled some 117 steamships. Of the three known wrecks of Morgan Line steamers, two, the New York (1837–1845) and the Josephine (1867–1881), have been documented by the Minerals Management Service, a Federal agency responsible for overseeing the extraction of mineral resources on the Outer Continental Shelf. The two vessels document the changing technology of steam navigation through the middle part of the 19th century.     

The United Kingdom and the Negotiation of the 1969 New York Convention on Special Missions

During 1968–9, members of the United Nations, meeting in the Legal Committee of the General Assembly, negotiated a Convention on Special Missions, sometimes known as the New York Convention, setting out the privileges and immunities of ad hoc embassies between states. The negotiation was part of a process through which the UN sought to clarify the status and rights of official representatives, so that diplomacy could function with security and certainty. This article looks at the role of one leading power, the United Kingdom, in the talks. It explores how British interests were defined, the tactics used to secure them and how London came to terms with pressure from other states to redefine its approach. The focus is on the overall political thrust of the British negotiating position, as formulated mainly by the Foreign Office, rather than the detailed talks on such thorny issues as tax avoidance and diplomatic property. The article shows that, while London was keen to see a codification of diplomatic law, cold-war considerations made it less than enthusiastic about an upsurge in the number of special missions that the New York Convention might encourage.
