Yadong is not very far from Sikkim and is well known since it was the place through which the British colonial army had to pass while invading Tibet on two occasions.     

全国百家名旅晋中对策:“联横” 2006年中国将向国外开放旅游市场

<正> 2005年11月21日至23日,来自全国近百家知名旅行社(旅游公司)的老总齐聚山西省晋中市,参加中华旅业联盟第六届年会,并考察山西省精品旅游线路。2006年,中国将向国外开放旅游市场,届时,将有大批外国旅行社(旅游公司)进入中国,直接参与中国旅游市场的经营活动。面对机遇和挑战,中国的旅行社如何壮大实力、发展自己,成了当前不可忽视而又急待解决的问题,因此,组建联盟、办好联合体就显得十分重要。年会总结了一年来的联盟工作,选举、产生了新一届联盟组织机构,提出了2006年联盟工作思路,力争用两到三年的时间,把中华旅业联盟办成中国最具特色、最有信誉和影响力的旅游联合体。     

Ragnar Granit 100 years--memories and reflections

The Swedish-Finnish Nobel laureate Ragnar Granit, born 100 years ago, is commemorated in a brief article by one of his former PhD students and collaborators. After a short account of Granit's life and scientific career, special attention is given to Granit's role as a teacher in research training and his published thoughts on this matter, partly reflecting Granit's own experience as a "postdoc" in the laboratory of Sherrington (Oxford). The article includes personal recollections of how it was to work together with Granit in his laboratory.

Three Generations of Painters Dainba Raodain, whose father was Zongdog Galsang Norbu, was born in 1941. He used to be an elementary school teacher, while also carrying out research on the Tibetan epic King Gesar, and he served as a fine art editor for a publishing house. In 1980, Dainba Raodain was transferred to Tibet University to teach art. He won the Excellence In Teaching Achievement Prize from the State Education Commission in 1990, and the Prize of the Wu Zuoren International …
