Excerpts from Tables of Contents of other Translation Journals

The Russian conquest of Siberia was one of the great feats of history, bringing almost one-tenth of the landmass of the world under the control of the Russian Empire. This paper proposes a framework for examining the role of Siberia in the development of the Russian state and the evolution of the world economy from the sixteenth to early twentieth century. This study supports the contention that, rather than representing an interesting aside in the annals of European imperialism, Russian colonization of Siberia was not only affected by European colonialism and the European-based capitalist world economy, but, in fact, was part of it Moreover, the conquest and consolidation of Siberia is viewed as a “series of changing geographies,” over space and time, as it was affected by and in turn affected the rise of Russian nationalism and the development of European capitalism. The three-part framework for analysis suggested in this study employs (1) a world-systems model, (2) a multi-disciplinary approach, and (3) cross-cultural comparison.

<史记>载春秋时期历史,内容多与<左传>相关,本纪、世家、列传、书、表各体与<左传>重叠之处甚多,<史记>三家注亦常称引<左传>,<史记>记载及三家注所引<左传>相关内容,对于<史记>、<左传>及期注释之校勘、标点具有较高参考价值.     

从“讼师”到“律师”——从翻译看近代中国社会对律师的认知

源自西方的律师制度在近代中国确立之前,英文中的lawyer等概念已经通过各种途径在中国译介并传播,且出现讼师、状师、法家、律师、辩护士等不同译法。最终,律师这一译词以立法的形式固定下来。译词的选择与使用,反映国人对律师制度及律师职业认知历程的嬗变。早期译介者以讼师这一传统概念对译lawyer一词时,并没有给予其明显的价值判断,但由于传统社会中讼师的不良形象,以及在中国官方话语的构造之下,讼师这一词汇本身承载的根深蒂固的负面意涵便被无限放大。这种负面意涵直到民国时期律师制度确立、律师阶层产生之后依旧存在,影响了律师阶层在近代中国地位、身份的确立。
