Excerpts from Tables of Contents of other Translation Journals

The Russian conquest of Siberia was one of the great feats of history, bringing almost one-tenth of the landmass of the world under the control of the Russian Empire. This paper proposes a framework for examining the role of Siberia in the development of the Russian state and the evolution of the world economy from the sixteenth to early twentieth century. This study supports the contention that, rather than representing an interesting aside in the annals of European imperialism, Russian colonization of Siberia was not only affected by European colonialism and the European-based capitalist world economy, but, in fact, was part of it Moreover, the conquest and consolidation of Siberia is viewed as a “series of changing geographies,” over space and time, as it was affected by and in turn affected the rise of Russian nationalism and the development of European capitalism. The three-part framework for analysis suggested in this study employs (1) a world-systems model, (2) a multi-disciplinary approach, and (3) cross-cultural comparison.

1938年3月初丹麦《奥胡斯教区时报》报道辛德贝格从南京寄回的信件

贝恩哈尔.阿尔普.辛德贝格(Bernhard Arp Sindberg,1911.2.19.~1983.5.1.),原籍丹麦奥胡斯市。上世纪30年代,江南水泥厂购买了丹麦F.L.史密斯公司的水泥生产设备,因未正式投产,故有两成货款未付。日军逼近南京之际,辛德贝格作为丹麦F.L.史密斯公司的雇员从上海赶赴江南水泥厂看护设备,于1937年12月6日(一说4日)至1938年3月21日滞留该厂。本件史料为辛德贝格于1937年12月13日南京沦陷后在南京活动的相关报道。

论李宗昉摘编《百苗图》的得失

《百苗图》是清代中叶贵州八寨理苗同知陈浩编绘而成的一部贵州民族志总汇,具有很高的资料价值和艺术鉴赏价值。李宗防对陈浩原本的字说解部分进行了编,并收藏于《黔记》一书中,对保存、传播珍贵的民族志资料作出了有益的贡献。但由于李宗防对陈浩所记的内容缺乏真实体验,对田雯《黔书》和陈浩《百苗图》的编排体例未能很好地融会贯通,加之编时过分追求从字顺、简洁典雅,因而出现了曲解原意、丢失珍贵资料、误解陈浩编排意图等重大失误。
