The hospital is located on the right side of the gate inside Tashilhungpo Monastery with a total floor space of 1,400 square meters. At present, there are 14 lama doctors, who wear their red kasaya underneath the normal white doctor uniform. The treatments include traditional Tibetan and Western methods. In the hospital there are many kinds of advanced diagnostic equipment such as X-ray, electrocardiogram, pathological laboratory, and B-ultrasonic, etc. Both traditional Tibetan and Western medicines are available. Cities and towns in Tibet are basically centered on monasteries.
