-CHINA GUANGCAI PROGRAM IN TIBET HELD IN LHASA

The activity of China Guangcai Program in Tibet, jointly organized by China Guangcai Society and the government of Tibet Autonomous Region, was held in Lhasa from August 4 to 5, 2013. More than 600 enterprises from 30 provinces all over the country took part in the activity. o During the activity, 229 contracts were signed with a total investment of 361.31 billion Yuan. China Guangcai Founda tion donated 18 million Yuan for the construction of Senior＇s House in Chushur County. China Minsheng Bank donated 40 million Yuan in the next four years for the treatment of children with congenital heart disease in Tibet. Qizheng Tibetan Medicine Co., Ltd donated 11 million Yuan to build a cultural institute in Lhundrup County and two Tibetan clinics respectively in Nagqu and Nyingchi.

Throughout the past dynasties of China,porcelainhas always been used by royalty in their palaces.Onone hand they were articles for the daily use and ap-praisal of the aristocracy,and on the other hand,ritualimplements used in ceremonies honouring the ances-tors of the royal families.The high status and prestigeof porcelain were unrivaled.Because of the specialproperties of porcelain,in the Palace the aestheticperception,tastes and faith of the emperors directlyinfluenced and even restricted the development ofporcelain.

The images Atra Leading an Elephant and A Mongolian Riding a Tiger are paintingsloved by Tibetans. In old Tibet, the two images were seen most on both sides of the house gate of senior monks, or on both walls of the corridors to the shrines in some monasteries. They were less often found in secular buildings and almost never in the yards of common people. Therefore, we can infer that except for the injunction to avoid evil and make money, the images also stand for power and eminence.
