孟列夫与汉学研究

孟列夫博士是俄罗斯科学院东方学研究所圣彼得堡分所主任研究员 ,俄罗斯当代著名汉学家。孟列夫著述颇丰 ,既翻译中国古典文学名著 ,也进行历史研究。尤其在敦煌学研究领域成就巨大。同时 ,孟列夫博士还积极推动、参加与中国的文化交流、合作活动。本文对俄国这位大汉学家做了全面介绍     

Edward II. His Last Months and his Monument

Abstract

Very little site-oriented dendrochronology has been undertaken in Scotland, possibly because of the absence of a locally based dendrochronological facility until recently. However, timbers found during the excavations of several medieval burghs in the late 1970s and 1980s were saved for future analysis and had been stored in museums around the country. During a project to locate suitable samples fir a Scottish tree-ring database the potential of these assemblages was recognised. Although relatively small assemblages, their analysis has expanded and strengthened the tree-ring database within Scotland, thus facilitating future work. Evidence fir synchronous development in the early burghs in the late 12th century and the nature of the woodland resource at times during the medieval period is presented. An 'event horizon' in the early 10th century, signalled by the birth dates of marry of the dated timbers, has been recognised and possible causes are discussed. The projects reported on here were all funded by Historic Scotland.

逯钦立与《诗品》研究

逯钦立先生是近百年中在《诗品》研究领域表现出深厚功力的少数几位学者之一。新近发现的《诗品考实》手稿,是对他早年发表的《钟嵘诗品丛考》一文的修订、增补,值得关注。逯先生既长于诗论,又精于校勘,研究视野开阔,判断敏锐,多有创见。     

Pillars and electoral behavior in Belgium: The neighborhood effect revisited

This paper explores the processes behind the neighborhood effect in electoral geography. Studies on neighborhood effect have largely ignored the local institutions and cultural milieu within which people are socialized. By taking into account the spatially differentiated social embedding of individuals, we are able to highlight the impact of local institutions on electoral behavior and restore the temporal dimension that has shaped the political specificities of places. In the case of Belgium, we show that social embedding (which took the very accomplished form of pillars) affects voting behavior through two different channels: a direct effect, coming from the family transmission of pillar values, and a contextual effect captured by a measure of the local embeddedness of the pillar.

西方人最早对中国文化进行深入系统的学习、研究和传介的是一批教会人士.早在明末清初时期来华的许多传教士,为了传教的目的,学习了中文,进而认识了中国文化,并为之折服.他们回国后,将中国的许多典籍译成了西方文字,第一次引起了西方知识界的强烈兴趣和普通民众的好奇心理.正是在这些早期基督教传教士进行的译介工作的基础上,汉学才成长为西方学术界的一个新的研究领域,在欧美各国传播开来.早期基督教传教士在汉学的兴起和中国文化在西方的传播上留下了不可磨灭的功绩.
