在对《中国历史地图集·西夏幅》绘制背景、资料来源、地理要素梳理和考释的基础上,结合北方民族的地缘状况及历史演变,文章指出《中国历史地图集·西夏幅》绘制过程中的北部疆界“模糊性”问题并非个案,而是北方民族政权疆界划分中普遍存在的现象,有必要重新审视与梳理。着眼未来,西夏文文献和考古出土资料将成为《中国历史地图集·西夏幅》修订的重要信息补充和资料来源。     

A Core-Periphery GIS Model of the Historical Growth and Spread of Islam in China

Abstract

This study presents the methodology and results of a core-periphery GIS model of the historical growth and spread of Islam in China based on a dataset of 1,774 mosques. These sites were organized into data subsets according to their founding dates during five major dynastic periods in Chinese history: Tang/Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, and Republican. Core areas were identified and mapped based on where mosques clustered during each period. North China was the paramount core region in all periods. Not until the late Qing and Republican periods did the Northwest and Yunnan compare with North China, while coastal China never developed into a core area.

1982、1987年出版的《中国历史地图集》是广受学术界赞誉的高水平的历史地图集,有关十六国时期的地图,经考证研究,有7处的绘法可以改绘得更加准确。     

顾颉刚先生与现代中国历史地图集的编绘

晚清以来,随着地图测绘、印刷技术以及历史研究的进步,学者们编绘了多种中国历史地图集。到了20世纪30年代,这些新编绘的中国历史地图集数量已不下二三十种,但在质量上也存在诸多问题,亟待改进。顾颉刚先生十分注重历史地图,1930年代组织禹贡学会,欲借团体之力编绘精确、详备的历史地图。受抗日战争影响,这一计划虽未能实现,但在历史地图底本、绘制方法、地名考证等方面做出诸多有益的贡献。1955年,他与章巽先生编著的《中国历史地图集·古代史部分》是我国第一本综合类历史地图集,虽与其早期计划相差甚远,但在内容、编辑方法、技巧方面创建颇多,对之后中国历史地图集编绘影响深远。     

Historical aspects of cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis (CTX)

Thomas Willis made numerous contributions to the neurosciences that were broad in scope. In an age of scientific breakthroughs and intellectual revolutions, Willis bestowed upon medical research the clinical rigor that set the stage for subsequent medical breakthroughs. In Cerebri Anatome, Willis introduced a measure of empiricism hitherto unknown in medieval times. By coupling the delineation of brain and neural anatomy with functional studies, Willis brought the science of clinical neurology into fruition. Psychiatry, too, benefited from Willis' elucidation of mental illness and intellectual disability, and modern behavioral psychologists claim Willis as one their early, most ardent champions.
