关于中共党史学理论的若干问题

关于中共党史学理论和方法的研究一直比较薄弱,而且其中若干问题尚存有争议。关于中共党史学的理论方法论体系、学科性质与特点、学科的研究对象与研究内容、党史的体系与历史分期等问题,有进一步探讨、研究和厘清的必要。     

Wheels of Time: Some Aspects of Entanglement Theory and the Secondary Products Revolution

This paper responds to that aspect of Andrew Sherratt??s writings that argued for building specifically archaeological theory. In describing a theory of entanglement, I have focused on the archaeological sensitivity to the complexities and practical interlacings of material things. The theory argues that human?Cthing entanglement comes about as a result of the dialectic between dependence (the reliance of humans and things on each other) and dependency (a constraining and limiting need of humans for things). Andrew??s discussion of the role of the wheel in his Secondary Products Revolution is a good example of how humans and things have become entangled so that, over the long term, we have been channeled down particular evolutionary pathways.     

Some Second Thoughts about Theory in the Social Sciences

When Professor Papageorgiou submitted his brief essay in the spring of 1982 (“Some Thoughts about Theory in the Social Sciences, GA [October 1982], pp. 340-46), I decided to use it as a vehicle to provoke a discussion of the issues he raised. I invited a number of scholars to submit brief and informal statements on these issues and these responses are assembled in the following pages. The variety of styles and contents of the submissions reflects the diversity that is contemporary human geography. I hope that this forum enhances our appreciation of the points-of-view of others. Convergence towards a single widely accepted epistemological framework appears to be further away than ever.     

中国考古学的觉醒与理论革命——关于考古学走向成熟的若干思考

中国考古学走向成熟的重要标志在于三个转变,即:在考古学基本理论方面,存在着从简单地层学向考古层位学转变的过程;在研究方面存在着从长于描述向深度研究转变的例证;在学科的作用方面存在着从补经证史向谱写历史篇章转变的客观事实。     

里耶秦简牍所见郡县订补

《里耶秦简(贰)》新出现一些秦代郡县道,本文从中归纳出4个郡和34个县道,其中城父县属淮阳郡、镡成县属洞庭郡。简牍可见从秦都咸阳发文传送至南阳郡—南郡—洞庭郡,以及文书在内史和郡属各县道及县下乡里之间的传输路线和传送方式。里耶简牍还可以复原秦洞庭郡的全部属县,并可由此推论秦洞庭郡的治所先在新武陵县,后迁往临沅县,时间大约在秦始皇二十九年、三十年间。     

On Some Problems of Theory and Practice in Economic Geography

The author, an opponent of Anuchin's views, charges that the discussion around the theory of a unified geography has been diverting the attention of the Geography Faculty of Moscow University away from practical tasks contributing to the growth of the national economy. Vol'skiy restates the Marxist theory of economic geography and calls on economic geographers for more constructive contributions to Communist economic development.     

Of Demons and Angels and Historical Humans: Some Events and Questions in Translation and Post-colonial Theory

In what follows, I attempt to show that a look at some curious examples of translations from European texts makes us think about issues in translation theory and post-colonial theory from a slightly different angle. The metaphor of translation can very well be employed for understanding the relation between European texts, and some texts and some social and political practices in India in the colonial period, and this in turn helps us look critically at what I shall call our fuzzy post-colonialism. I also argue that Walter Benjamin's metaphor of translation as the after-life of a work can be extended to posit two basic modes of after-life.     

从历史发展多线性到史学范式多样化--围绕"以一元多线论为基础的现代化范式"的讨论

“以一元多线论为基础的现代化范式”把“现代化”主要看做一个有特定内涵的全球历史大变革进程,看做一个并不具备终极目标价值而且道路模式选择多样的历史范畴,从而使之成为史学研究的对象。它和20世纪50～60年代的美国现代化论有原则上的不同,也不同于建立在“五种生产方式序列”基础上的“革命范式”。东、西方两种对立的单线演进历史模式,在史学方法论上都有绝对主义和排他性色彩。一元多线历史发展观则是开放的、包容的、多面向的。现代化范式的出现打破了史学长期由单一范式支配的局面。史学范式的多样化,是中国史学繁荣之道。     

Bone Modifications Resulting from Captive Chimpanzee Mastication: Implications for the Interpretation of Pliocene Archaeological Faunas

In order to obtain chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes) mastication damage on bones, cleaned, disarticulated ribs and long bones of bovids and cervids were coated with food substances found palatable by captive chimpanzees. The bones were then presented to four groups of mixed sex and mixed age chimpanzees from the Tulsa Zoo (Oklahoma) and the Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research (San Antonio, Texas). In the process of feeding on the coated bones, the chimpanzees inflicted discernible mastication damage on 73·61% of the total recovered bone specimens. Analysis of these chimpanzee-induced bone modifications reveals that non-technological hominoids of the same approximate size and with comparable dentition and bite force to the gracile australopithecines and earliestHomoare very capable of inflicting the same range and degree of damage to bones as are feeding carnivores. This finding implies that zooarchaeologists must take a contextual (configurational) approach when analysing mastication damage on arch-aeological bones, rather than automatically attributing all such damage to carnivores.     

Modifications introduced in the nonlinear whistler-electron interaction by parallel electric fields

Large scale magnetospheric parallel electric fields expected to occur beyond the plasmapause modify the nonlinear behaviour of the cyclotron resonance between electrons and coherent whistler mode waves. Enhancement of the effects originated in the interaction requires waves of varying frequency which might be generated in natural emissions, or artificially injected into the magnetosphere. Adopting a static electric field model based on a differential pitch-angle anisotropy in the geomagnetic mirror, we contrast the evolution of the resonant particles and the adequate ground transmitter frequency format with the corresponding results for the zero electric field case. The outcome, obtained for a field line with L = 6.2, demonstrates the strong influence of the parallel electric field on the nonlinear cyclotron resonance.
