The Wood Processing Industry and Local Development in North Maluku,Indonesia

The resource‐based but technologically advanced wood processing industry has as yet triggered little diversification and transformation of the traditional local economy of North Maluku, Indonesia. Pressures from the world market and a scarcity of raw materials are causing uncertainty for the future of the wood processing industry, which is likely to inhibit further local development.
