The Normalization of Sino-Japanese Relations and the Taiwan Issue

The Taiwan issue was the main impediment to normalizing Sino|Japanese relations after the Second World War. The Chinese government proposed three political principles that laid the foundation for the later restoration of relations,and it also combined steadfast commitment to principles with tactical flexibility.At the same time,opposition Japanese figures also unflaggingly strove to remove this impediment to normalization.;
