From Rivalry to Compromise:An Examination of Modern Anglo-American Relations

Modem times is a very important historical period to Anglo- Ameican relations which gradually changed from rivalry to compromise. Many factors which consist of international system, geopolitics, mental factors, identity of culture and institution, and the rising of new powers as well as the adjustment of national strategy, account for this transformation. As a result, Britain launched the hegemony transference to America at the end of the 19th century, which also led significantly to the establishment of the Pax - Americanna in the 20th century.
