| Abstract: | The article contains a comparative analysis of Russian memoirists and historians` points of view on the material factors, including the so-called ‘shell-problem’, of the Battle of Tsushima. Pre-revolutionary and Soviet authors were inclined to exaggerate the role of technical deficiencies of Russian warships. Under the influence of new evidence, contemporary Russian historians reconsidered most of the traditional conceptions. |
