清代皖北地区行政区划及其变迁

有清一朝,皖北行政区划调整分直隶州与府的调整、裁并与析增州县、佐贰官的移驻外署几种情况。雍正时,针对皖北凤阳一府辖域过大、人口众多和距统治中心遥远而难以进行有效行政等因,析凤阳府而设泗州直隶州和颍州府,并又以周围至广、民风刁顽和命案多发而分寿州增设凤台县;乾隆时期,由于水灾毁城等因,又分别并临淮县归凤阳、裁虹县入泗州,迁泗州于虹城;同治年间,鉴于淮北壤阔民悍和捻军之乱等情,作为善后举措,清廷分蒙城等4州县设涡阳。同时,为加强控制,在区划不变的情况下,清廷又将各级佐贰官移驻外派。
