Network,State and Asian Regional Order:the Critical Renflection of Ethnic Chinese Studies

This article is a critical reflection of recent scholarships on the Chinese diaspora in the context of changing relationships between network and the state in East Asia. It is primarily concerned with the interactions between network and market, society and the state, localization and globalization and their relevance to the ethnic Chinese studies. In understanding the changing Asian regional orders and the intriguing roles played by the Chinese diaspora in the region, the authors argue that greater attention should be paid to the historicization, spatialization, institutionalizations of (Chinese) networks and their limitations.
