Five Dynasties and Song Dynasty tombs often feature imitation timber architectural features made in brick,and the placement of this imitation exterior architecture within the underground space of tombs raises a series of questions regarding how the exterior timber architecture was coordinated with its interior placement,how the spatial relationship between the architectural elements was handled and how techniques were used to handle this virtual space.These topics are all examined by the author.
