Interactions between Entrepreneurship, the State and Social Network in the Transnational Arena: A Case Study of New Chinese Migrants

By using several illustrative examples of Sino-Singaporean entrepreneurs,this article analyzes the changing roles of transnational entrepreneurship and its linkages with the state and social network.It briefly discusses the key attributes of entrepreneurship and the emerging conceptualizations of transnational entrepreneurship and then highlights the importance of transnational knowledge and comparative advantages.It also considers the changing role of the state,network,and familism.The article concludes that transnationality,a close integration between the state and network,and technological innovation are key elements in explaining the dynamic emergence of new Chinese entrepreneurs and their roles in China.
